Insane-grapple-hook-vehicle-combat-game dev day 234! Looking at this capture I can not do anything but smile :D Is is just so bonkers full of action that I am not sure how did this happen :D I would wishlist this game myself if I was not making it :D ! Today... did a bunch of Ui polish, nothing is visually final, but I removed the red/green targeting, changed the crosshairs to a more delicate and accurate one, added panini projection offset compensation for the health bars and other UI elements so that they better match the distorted game view and redid the weapons UI to use digits instead of a line of bullets. This was a very productive day! (dev day 81) I managed to build the whole tech tree upgrade system from scratch today in just under 6 hours or so. The system builds the hierarchical view from a json file and saves the acquired upgrades into playerPrefs so they persist. I spent quite a bit of my time working on the json -> unity UI parser and I think I have a pretty decent solution in the game now! The graphics are placeholders, I plan to add icon based tree instead of text labels. But this is where I got today. It took a while to iron out a gazillion bugs that came from using unity scrollRect, combat the unity UI scaling issues and make sure everything works in build game as well and all my debug tools work correctly. I used Cursor to vibe code a simple fishing game prototype on the Unity Engine. Here's my learnings: - I did not use any Unity MCP for this. The game was built entirely by Cursor models (Sonnet 4.6 for execution and Opus 4.6 for planning) - The model was able to set up the game, getting the basic game mechanics working fairly quickly - I had to use the Unity Game Editor UI to attach components to the in-game objects manually, but it was quite easy to follow the instructions given by the Cursor model - Unity Editor is huge and slow! Compared to Godot, I find the UI really clunky I feel tired looking at it - Unity Assets Marketplace is amazing, there are so many amazing art assets there (like the ones I am using for this game). This is probably the biggest strength of Unity. - I had some issues with restoring checkpoints, probably because of how Unity Game Editor UI being really clunky and I had to manually adjust things in the Editor, which the model doesnt have knowledge of Overall, the results turn out pretty decent, but it was a rather frustrating experience, especially when I had to debug issues or rollback changes. Today, I'm revealing my Roblox Game FULLY scripted using Claude Opus 4.6 Extended. This project took about 4 days to complete, and not a single line of code was touched by an actual scripter. When I saw that Assassin's Creed Unity was getting a 60 FPS update for current gen consoles, I honestly could not wait to see it with my own eyes. And after playing it, I realized it is not just 60 FPS. The game also seems to be upscaled to 4K, which is absolutely insane in my opinion and the game runs incredibly smooth! Many of you know that I have never been the biggest fan of Unity. But I have to admit, maybe it is just placebo, yet it genuinely feels like the game plays better. Almost like the controller responds more precisely to what I actually want to do. I tested it properly in stealth and of course in parkour, and I have to say, it feels amazing! One UI 8's latest version, ZYES, is the smoothest version I've ever experienced, smoother than all previous versions of One UI 7 and One UI 8. I can confirm that it has optimized the App startup animation again, making it more natural, smoother, and non-linear. Please watch the video I recorded. And the most important thing is that ZYES responds too fast. Watch my video, when I click the icons of One UI 8 and One UI 7 at the same time, you can see that the response speed of ZYES on the left is much faster.
