Whatever happened to those US pilots that got kidnapped in eastern Africa flying those Qatar nations you reported on in February? I assume they are dead by now but did the US even send someone to get the bodies?

I halted public coverage of that crisis due to efforts behind the scenes, but both pilots were recovered safe and sound. I wanted to give them a bit of privacy due to the incident being rather traumatic, but they made it home okay after a bit of clandestine intervention.

I had no idea they survived...unexpected and amazing news. I couldn't find any sources confirming anything and I just remembered it talking to a friend about it.

Eritrea has had a blackout on public internet use for many years now so any of those internal roomers would be by word of mouth I assume. They have a long and recent history of civil strife following their independence in the 90’s. This information may be useless for the purposes of your report but it is an interesting window into a country I consider to be more of an African North Korea of sorts.

You all do know that LPR tech has been used 15-20 years now. Some cars have them mounted on the that reads all the cars around them. Flock type cameras are a great tool for LE and the law is clear that their use is legal.

Look at the Horn.. Eritrea, Ethiopia, Somalia, Somaliland.. We are about ready to have a duel shoreline anti shipping corridor come into view.

“Clustermaps” can be done using Folium in Python, or just feed the data straight into Grok or Claude and have it built nicely with less effort.
