Interstate ’76 (1997, PC) Developed and published by Activision, made on modified MechWarrior 2 engine. Are there any fans of the funky ’70s vibe?

Yeah i found my copy when moving a few months ago. IIRC it was bundled with a Monster 3dfx card and even the audio tracks were awesome. Reminds me of the best parts from pencil-paper "Car Wars" RPG from Steve Jackson games that came out decades before.

I miss Car Wars pick a car, armor, engine, and guns, and play like it's mad max. There was a Milton Bradly Game with a similar premise.

That game was awesome! And one of the few games that had an dedicated PowerVR renderer (SGL) so you could do 1024x786 unlike the 3dfx version (which was cool too). I still have a Socket7 system with both a Voodoo1 and a Matrox m3 paired with an Ati Rage128 Pro.

Loved this game but really struggled with framerate issues on my PC at the time, especially when the action got heavy. Just noticed someone post saying it had 3DFX support… why did I not know this when I had one of those cards, I’d have gone back to play it again :(

Loved the first one. The sequel was pretty meh.
