Even the Dead Couldn’t Escape Corruption A Municipal Assistant Engineer in Peddapally district, Kallepalli Sathish Kumar, was caught by the ACB while allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹2 lakh for processing and forwarding the final bill of a graveyard development project worth ₹12.28 lakh. During subsequent searches, ACB officials also seized ₹32.31 lakh in unaccounted cash from his residence. The accused has been arrested and produced before the Special ACB Court. Investigation is underway.

She said: “I initially wanted to become a doctor, and my father also wished the same for me. But later I chose the civil services because there is no better platform than UPSC. A public prosecutor attached to the City Civil and Sessions Court in Bengaluru was caught red-handed by the Karnataka Lokayukta Police while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 5,000 from a complainant on Monday. The accused,has been identified as, Savitha Naveen Patil, 55, serving as Public Prosecutor at CCH-54, Bengaluru, was allegedly demanding a bribe to submit objections in Case registered at the Chennamanakere Achukattu Police Station. The complainant, Manjunath, 40, a resident of Banashankari, approached the Lokayukta alleging that the prosecutor had demanded Rs. 5,000 to carry out the official work. Based on the complaint, Lokayukta Police registered Case under the Prevention of Corruption Act. During the trap operation, the accused was allegedly caught while accepting the Rs. 5,000 bribe amount and was secured by the Lokayukta team and arrested for further investigation.

The aircraft was reportedly purchased in Kyrgyzstan over a month ago. Sudan has been in a civil war since April 2023. The war has led to famine, genocide, hundreds of thousands of deaths and millions having to flee their homes.
