@NotebookLM Agentic research sounds great until it confidently hallucinates a citation. what's NotebookLM doing differently to keep sources actually grounded?

The agentic research capabilities can help identify additional sources from the web to add to your notebook. When it comes to answering questions, generating artifacts, etc. notebook will still be grounded exclusively from your sources that you have approved and selected.

loving it all the way! just a quick critical feedback for future to do: cinematic video overviews, while super cool in terms of graphics, do not make coherent sense of the topic at hand, even with heavy prompting. it's like it's a bunch of ideas on the topic stitched together nonsensically. ideally the whole video should flow like a main thread or lesson with conclusions. generic video overviews aren't too different despite the 1,2,3 format

@NotebookLM Still no way to organize notebooks? That makes it unusable - who wants to have to deal with 1 massive list of 100s of notebooks - wildly mixed topics. Until the system allows me to manage the mess, I will refrain from using it.

The agent can help identify and add sources to your notebook (with your permission!) but when it comes to actually interacting with the material, generating artifacts, etc everything is still grounded in the sources that you selected and approved!

@NotebookLM ye only available to ultra plan so we have to pay 200$ to just test and see how bad it works you can literally test same features on chatgpt with 20$ and their system works 100x better compared to last time i tested NotebookLM with 20$ pro subscription

notebooklm's magic was the leash. it only answered from your sources, so you actually trusted it. "agentic capabilities and advanced reasoning" pulls straight against that. the real question isn't whether it's more powerful, it's whether it still refuses to go past your sources. that refusal was the product.

This is a strong upgrade. Turning NotebookLM into a more agentic research collaborator with better reasoning and flexible output formats is exactly what makes it powerful for builders tackling messy, multi-step problems (product research, competitive analysis, learning pipelines, etc.). The real value will be how well the agentic chat + new outputs maintain coherence across long projects. Already testing it on Ultra or planning to? What’s the first complex workflow you want to throw at it?
