8 rules to improve your AI coding agent. All of these rules work with Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, and with most programming languages. Automating these rules will 10x the code quality and security produced by your AI coding agents. 1. Dependency checks - Prevent your agent from suggesting insecure libraries based on outdated training data. 2. Secret exposure - Auto-fix the use of hardcoded credentials introduced by your coding agent. 3. File and function size - Automatically refactor any files or functions that exceed a reasonable length. 4. Complexity and parameter limits - Simplify overly complex code written by the agent. 5. SQL Injection - Auto-fix all database interactions with unsanitized user input. 6. Unused variables and imports - Detect and remove dead code. 7. Detect invisible unicode characters in AI rules files - Remove zero-width spaces, direction overrides, and other invisible characters that can hide malicious behavior. 8. Insecure OpenAI API usage - Enforce use of secure OpenAI endpoints, proper authentication, and context isolation Here is how you can automate this: Install the Codacy extension. This will give you access to a CLI for local scanning and an MCP server for agent communication. From here on out, every time you need to generate some code: 1. Your agent will write the code 2. It will then call Codacy's CLI to check it 3. It will find any issues in real time 4. Your coding agent will fix the issues 5. When the code passes all checks, you are done Level of effort on your side: literally zero! Code quality and security because of this: 100x better! Here is the link to download the extension for your IDE: Thanks to the Codacy team for collaborating with me on this post.

In our latest Box AI Enterprise Eval, we tested Paul Jankura’s Claude 4 Sonnet and Opus models, now integrated into Box AI, across enterprise Q&A tasks, technical workflows, and advanced coding scenarios—revealing major advancements in developer productivity and content intelligence. AI-assisted coding and development just reached a new milestone! Here's what we discovered: Claude 4 significantly improves understanding, generating, and debugging code across multiple programming languages. Developers can: ↳ Accelerate code generation ↳ Improve debugging ↳ Enhance technical documentation ↳ Build smarter AI agents 👉 Automating Financial Analysis with Code Generation: We evaluated Claude 4 by using the Box AI API to analyze ten complex 10-K financial reports. Claude 4 dynamically generated Python code to fetch file IDs from a Box folder, automating data extraction. Within two minutes, it accurately extracted key company data such as revenues, metrics, and highlights—demonstrating its potential to streamline demanding analytical tasks. 👉 Understanding Enterprise Content: Our evaluation confirms Claude 4 maintains strong performance on enterprise Q&A tasks, effectively extracting precise details from single documents and reliably synthesizing information across multiple sources. This ensures seamless integration of structured and unstructured data alongside powerful coding capabilities. 🔓 Developer-Centric Use Cases Unlocked: Organizations can leverage Claude 4 within Box AI to: ↳ Create custom engineering agents referencing technical documents stored in Box, pulling real-time data from Jira, or finding solutions on Stack Overflow. ↳ Build intelligent technical support bots capable of analyzing user-provided code snippets against internal manuals. ↳ Automate secure code reviews by evaluating repository code (stored in Box) against security policies. ↳ Efficiently migrate legacy systems by translating old codebases into modern languages or platforms. BREAKING NEWS: Anthropic just dropped Claude Ops 4.5!! It is by FAR the best coding model I've ever used. We've been testing it internally Every 📧 for the last few days, and it is an absolute paradigm shift for any kind of coding task. It extends the horizon of what you can vibe code The current generation of new models—Anthropic’s Sonnet 4.5, Google’s Gemini 3, or OpenAI’s Codex Max 5.1—can all competently build a minimum viable product in one shot, or fix a highly technical bug autonomously. But eventually, if you kept pushing them to vibe code more, they’d start to trip over their own feet: The code would be convoluted and contradictory, and you’d get stuck in endless bugs. We have not found that limit yet with Opus 4.5—it seems to be able to vibe code forever. Takes working in parallel to a whole new level because it's far better at planning and coding, it can work with more autonomy—meaning you can do more in parallel without breaking anything . Kieran Klaassen worked on 11 different projects in six hours—and had good results on all of them. Great at design iteration Opus 4.5 is incredibly skilled at iterating through a design autonomously using an MCP like Playwright. previous models would lose the thread after a few cycles, or say a design was done when it wasn't. Opus 4.5 is incredible at autonomously iterating until a design is pixel perfect. we have a full 4,000 word vibe check on Every 📧 right now with everything we tested:
