Introducing the Lovable Shopify integration. Today, we're making it possible to build online stores by chatting with AI. To show how it works, we built and launched our first merch store:

The first step was simply telling Lovable to build an online store for selling merch. Lovable set everything up for us, including checkout and shopping cart functionality.

Next, we specified the products we wanted to sell and added product images. Lovable added the products to the store and even helped generate product descriptions.

Lastly, we told Lovable the store was finished and that we were ready to start selling. Lovable let us claim the store on Shopify, and then we simply clicked Publish. The store is now live at lovable(.)dev/merch.

Does this also help the thousands of pre-existing Shopify stores? Can I start modifying my existing stores with AI today?

With the current integration you can not make edits to already existing stores.

Yeah, after testing it, you can't connect it to previous shopify stores, and that's a real shame. But I hope in the next update you guys correct that.

This is awesome! Quick questions. Is the frontend served by Lovable and the checkout by Shopify? What about order management, payment and shipping setups? I do that on Shopify or directly from Lovable? Do I need a Shopify subscription on top of a Lovable subscription?

Can I build landing pages tied to the product on my shopify store and have cart functionality in them?

So how will we be able to add or edit products later on — directly from Lovable, or through Shopify?
