yeah i was tired of raycast i don't use 3/4th of their features. raycast is bloated and no longer native it sucks 600mb even if you don't use extensions. you are literally running a browser lol

Looking really nice! I totally get the desire for minimalism so I guess your long-term vision is not to add too many built-in tools? Are you open to the idea of some form of simple extension system, though? That would allow folks to add the bits that are missing for them without bloating the core… but that would add complexity in itself so it’s a non-trivial tradeoff. I would love to migrate to something like this, but there are certain extensions, I don’t think I could do without to be honest…

you are right. i am doing some experiment on raycast extension. it needs js runtime must up running. i am experimenting if i can make it portable so whoever wants they can toggle it on and a node process will run in background. that's my idea let's see how far i can go.

goal is keeping tinycast under 100mb on ram. and if anyone wants extensions then a Nodejs process will run along

Nice, love seeing more native rewrites of this. Skipped the Raycast-import route on mine, rebuilt the core loop from scratch: launcher, clipboard, snippets, tiling, calculator. Landed at 600KB, ~40MB RAM. Curious how you're handling import parsing, seems like the hard part.

we have a old version like 0.9.7 for that but it's no longer maintained it's very hard to maintain for older macs
