🚨 CHINA IS RACING TO BUILD A SPACE SOLAR POWER PLANT THAT COULD BEAM ELECTRICITY FROM ORBIT TO EARTH. Scientists at Xidian University have successfully tested a ground-based system that can wirelessly transmit kilowatt-level power over 100 meters using microwaves. Their ultimate goal is far more ambitious: placing large solar power stations in geostationary orbit (36,000 km up), where sunlight is available 24/7 with no weather or atmosphere blocking it. The project, called Zhuri (“chasing the sun”), uses mirrors to concentrate sunlight onto solar panels, converts the electricity into microwaves, and beams it down to a receiving antenna (rectenna) on Earth. Why this matters: • In space, solar energy is up to 6 times more efficient than on Earth because there’s no night, clouds, or atmospheric filtering • A single large space solar station could theoretically generate gigawatts of continuous clean power enough for millions of homes • The team has already proven the system can beam power to multiple moving targets at once • China is now among the world leaders in this technology, alongside the US and Japan The deeper implication: Space-based solar power has been a dream for decades because it could provide truly baseload renewable energy. While the technical and financial challenges are enormous (building massive structures in orbit, precise microwave beaming, and safety), steady progress like this brings the concept closer to reality. If successful, it could fundamentally change how humanity generates and distributes energy moving power collection off the planet entirely. Near-term applications could include wirelessly charging satellites or powering future lunar bases. Do you think space-based solar power will become a major energy source in the coming decades, or will it stay too expensive and complex? 🚨 THE ENERGY TECHNOLOGY THAT COULD POWER CIVILIZATION FOR THE NEXT 100 YEARS ISN'T FUSION. Molten Salt Reactors use molten fluoride or chloride salts as coolant and in some designs, the nuclear fuel itself is dissolved directly into that salt. This is very different from traditional reactors. Instead of solid fuel rods sitting in water under high pressure, these systems run at much higher temperatures but at atmospheric pressure, which dramatically reduces the risk of explosions or meltdowns. The salt can flow over solid fuel, or the fuel can be mixed directly into the coolant. Both approaches are being actively developed. Why this matters: • MSRs operate at high temperatures, making them potentially much more efficient at generating electricity and process heat • Low-pressure operation makes them inherently safer than conventional water-cooled reactors • Some designs can burn existing nuclear waste or use thorium as fuel • The technology could support everything from advanced power generation to hydrogen production and industrial heat The deeper implication: For decades, nuclear power has been dominated by one basic design concept. Molten salt reactors represent a fundamental rethink using a liquid that can act as both coolant and fuel. This opens the door to reactors that are safer, more flexible, and potentially capable of solving some of nuclear energy’s biggest historical challenges (waste, fuel efficiency, and public perception of safety). While still in development, MSRs are one of the most promising pathways for next-generation nuclear power. We may be looking at the early stages of a genuinely new chapter in how humanity generates clean, reliable energy. Do you think molten salt reactors will become a major part of the future energy mix, or will traditional designs continue to dominate? Follow for more frontier energy technology and next-generation nuclear systems.

🚨 A MAJOR STEP FOR ADVANCED NUCLEAR: TERRESTRIAL ENERGY SECURES 77-ACRE SITE IN TEXAS FOR MOLTEN SALT REACTOR TESTING. Terrestrial Energy has signed agreements to use a large site at the Texas A&M-RELLIS campus to prepare for testing its Integral Molten Salt Reactor (IMSR) a Generation IV small modular reactor design. Unlike traditional nuclear plants that use solid fuel rods and high-pressure water, this design dissolves low-enriched uranium directly into a liquid salt mixture that acts as both fuel and coolant. Why this matters: • The reactor can cool itself through natural air circulation if power is lost no need for backup pumps • It operates at normal atmospheric pressure, significantly reducing the risk of containment failure • Major components can be factory-built and shipped to site, speeding up construction • The company recently passed key NRC safety evaluations and has a deal to study powering large-scale data centers (up to 4 GW) The deeper implication: As AI and data centers drive massive new electricity demand, there’s growing interest in reliable, always-on, low-carbon power sources that can be deployed faster than traditional large reactors. Molten salt designs like this one offer inherent safety advantages and factory production potential that could help nuclear compete in this new market. Securing a dedicated testing site is a concrete sign that this technology is moving from paper studies toward real-world validation. How important do you think advanced nuclear (like molten salt reactors) will be for powering the AI boom compared to renewables + storage? 🚨🇨🇳U.S. IN PANIC: China's J-35 Stealth Fighter Now in 'Beast Mode' With Increased Firepower China's J-35 fifth-generation stealth fighter has been seen in a new configuration carrying four PL-15 long-range air-to-air missiles on external pylons under its wings. Combined with the six missiles it carries inside its internal weapons bays, the aircraft can now go into combat with up to ten air-to-air missiles in total. 🔸This setup is informally called "beast mode" — a term borrowed from the U.S. military's similar configuration for the F-35. The idea is straightforward: the aircraft trades some of its stealth capability for significantly more firepower. When weapons are carried externally, they increase the aircraft's radar signature, making it more visible to enemy systems. However, the PL-15 missile's long range means the J-35 can potentially engage enemy aircraft from a safe distance before that visibility becomes a serious problem. 🔸The J-35 entered service in 2025 in both Air Force and Navy variants. The naval version is designed to operate from Chinese supercarriers such as the Fujian. Both versions are considered among the most advanced fifth-generation fighters in the world today, alongside the J-20 and the American F-35 — all three of which are regarded as more sophisticated than the older F-22 or Russia's Su-57. 🔸Within China's own air fleet, the J-35 is expected to serve as a lighter and more affordable complement to the larger and more powerful J-20, which carries a bigger radar, heavier weapons load, and longer range. The J-20 is expected to remain the priority for large-scale procurement, while the J-35 fills a broader operational role at lower cost. Do you think the U.S. can really counter it? 🚨🇮🇷🇹🇷Is the Iran War Accidentally Rebuilding the Ottoman Empire? The Ottomans didn't dominate the world through conquest alone. They dominated by controlling Eurasian land trade routes and large swathes of the Mediterranean. The Iran war may be positioning Turkey to rebuild that same combination. For decades, the Strait of Hormuz carried nearly 20% of global oil and LNG supply. The Iran war has created an opening for alternative routes — and Turkey sits at the intersection of several plausible ones: 🔸 Turkmen gas via Trans-Caspian into the TANAP network — through Turkey to Europe, bypassing the Gulf entirely. 🔸 The Iraq-Turkey pipeline extended to Basra — up to 1.5 million barrels daily to Mediterranean markets, outside Iranian reach. 🔸 Qatar gas via Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Syria, and Turkey — directly to European LNG terminals, entirely overland. For 400 years, the Ottoman Empire sat at the crossroads of East and West not because it conquered everything, but because everything valuable traveled through it. If these three routes are built, a significant share of energy moving from the Gulf to Europe would pass through Turkish territory. The Ottomans understood this formula: control the routes, control the trade. And they backed it with a navy that, at its height, dominated the Mediterranean. Turkey is now rebuilding that same combination. 41 warships are under simultaneous construction, and 120 ships with 15,000 personnel recently completed the Blue Homeland-2026 exercises across three seas. This growing fleet allows Turkey to project power across the Eastern Mediterranean — a region already crowded with competing energy interests. Why does that matter? The Eastern Mediterranean is becoming a gas hub in its own right. 🔸Major discoveries (Leviathan, Tamar, Aphrodite, Zohr) have turned Israel, Egypt, and Cyprus into potential suppliers for Europe. 🔸Those countries are developing offshore LNG terminals and subsea pipelines. 🔸98% of Israeli foreign trade depends on Mediterranean navigation — including its ability to export gas. Turkey now actively contests this sea. By positioning itself as both an energy corridor and a naval power in the Eastern Mediterranean, Ankara could in the long run influence who ships what, where, and under what terms.
