Scottie Scheffler flew up Monday and played Shinnecock Hills for the first time. He'll be going for the career grand slam at the U.S. Open there in two weeks. What did he think about the golf course? Part of his answer... "I was a little surprised at the width of the fairways but the green complexes there are extremely difficult. That's where the greatest challenge comes from. The rough also was a really good penalty for the width. Once you start missing fairways out there, you have no chance."

Two days early practice PGA Championship @aroniminkgolfclub Course is in perfect condition. Reasonably wide fairways but firm, very fast and sloping. Definitely difficult to hit on some of doglegs with slopes. With the exception of a few holes surprisingly not that long, although there’s some length in a couple of the par 3s. The rough is extremely gnarly but you can pull a good lie. Generally you’ll see a lot guys bombing drivers to leave shorter shots out of the rough. The greens are definitely the difficulty of the course, a lot of slopes and angles to them.. Plenty of pin positions that become unplayable to if out of position. A good old fashioned test.

Pete Hegseth should have stayed home, perhaps he could have done more good there. Or, possibly, he’s better on a golf course. The problem is, a golf course looks nothing like Iran’s terrain. Don’t get me wrong — Hegseth is an incredible motivational speaker. It’s just that his speeches are full of lies, so sooner or later he has to take the heat for what he said. Watch FULL here:

Jon Rahm on the LIV format: “Yeah, obviously there’s been a bit of a change. There was a lot more about LIV Golf that was attractive to me, right. Yeah, maybe the format was a set back in the past, but at the same time there’s a lot of positives to it as well. And one of the things that a lot of players kept mentioning is you don’t have a wave weather difference, where you can simply get unlucky and you’re out of contention for that tournament. It’s part of the game, I get it, but it’s something you don’t have to deal with anymore. So that part is a very nice aspect. The team is what really made it for me. Being able to be part of a team, represent a team, play for my teammates, with my teammates and against my teammates, is something that to me that has always been very, very special. When you get a victory to share, it’s always better to have a team to share it with. So it’s what was the most attractive part and when we started discussions it gets to a point where even though I’m ambitious, I’m not greedy. So there’s a give and take and the format is something that I can easily overlook, and I’m pretty sure I can learn to enjoy it, I’ll just have to get used to it, but I’m pretty sure I’ll learn to enjoy it. To be honest, the more I started thinking about it, the more I started thinking about my college days that were 3 day tournaments, 54 holes, and everybody warmed up together for the most part.
