Video from Durham Constabulary

The driver was convicted of dangerous driving and received a 12 month disqualification. They will potentially be back on the road in later this year.

Get the government; the manufacturers; and the dealers into court too. Why are cars that are capable of >70mph even legal to import; deal in; or have in one’s possession. It is not normal to give a criminal a 140mph car in the first place

big numbers on the digital dashboard. Big numbers - like 45 cm away from the driver's eyes. Probably some lights on nearby the number to indicate in excess of the speed limit. Higher engine tone from the car being redlined at 140 mph. The scenery and cars in front approaching much faster than normal motorway speed. Your right foot being pressed flat down onto the accelerator. All these are excellent indicators to the driver that the car is travelling far in excess of the required speed limit.

Just how fast was the ‘break’ going if he could not catch it?

The wee lad got caught out by his powerful car. When he gets his license back, he should be barred for life from driving cars of over 100hp or motorbikes over 15hp.

Not a chance. That's a war on motorists.

Poor man, the whole world is against him. What a load of nonsense some people come out with.

Have you never accidently done 140mph on your bicycle without realising?

Good bust 👏
