Utah Law says: “In Utah, when a person is murdered (a death by violence), the law mandates that an autopsy must be done if the medical examiner deems it necessary or the prosecutor requests it. To refuse or omit one in a homicide case is illegal under Utah Code § 26-4-6. If true, there is a massive coverup going on. Here is the problem. The case against the shooter is already lost. There is no credible evidence to substantiate a conviction. If No Autopsy Is Done Procedural Violation: Failing to perform an autopsy in such a case could itself be a violation of law, potentially subjecting officials to administrative or even legal challenges. Prosecution Problems: Without an autopsy, the cause and manner of death are not medically certified. Evidence like bullet trajectory, wound analysis, toxicology, and time of death may be missing. This weakens or even cripples the ability to prove homicide beyond a reasonable doubt. In Utah, not doing an autopsy in a murder case is both legally improper and practically devastating to prosecution.
