It’s honestly fascinating how Apple managed to completely ruin its software quality within a few years. In iOS 15, Apple was the gold standard for UI design, smoothness, and attention to detail. And now, we have issues like these lingering around for years and Apple still doesn’t fix them.

designers love to hate on raw, unfinished things. redesigning the whole ios/watchos/macos/... ui after a decade is a brutal challenge for any design team! almost impossible to satisfy the expectation. most haters around here have never designed in a large organization like apple and are not aware of challenges such as politcs, opiniated stakeholder, impossible deadlines, the list goes on... i empathise with the ui designers in apple. yes! os26 and liquid glass feels rough at the moment! so did the ios7 at launch. it evolved. this will too. i appreciate the brave direction apple has taken with this liquid glass ui. yes it comes with challenges including readability, compatibility and more... let's stop b*tching about it and contribute to solutionise these challenges.

After an amazing 4+ years at Apple, I’m happy to say I've recently made the switch and transitioned my side project into my new primary focus, now dedicating all my energy to Jitter 💫 I’m infinitely thankful for all the exceptionally talented people I met along the way, and for the once-in-a-lifetime projects I was involved in, including major product launches for AirPods and AirPods Max, Apple TV4K and Apple Vision Pro.

Former software engineer at Apple is whistleblowing She says whenever Apple launches a new phone, they would push an update to older iPhones with malware to slow them down. This pushes people to upgrade “I used to be a software engineer at Apple, and with every new phone that was released, malware was installed on the older phones to make you have to update, so your phone's not just glitching. It's doing that on purpose. Share before it's deleted” She’s telling the truth, this was proven in court The 2017 “Batterygate” scandal, where Apple was caught deliberately slowing down older iPhones through software updates Apple was caught red handed doing this they even admitted it in court Apple released iOS updates that intentionally throttled and reduced CPU performance. This caused phones to feel slower, glitchy and laggy Apple’s stated reason: To prevent unexpected shutdowns caused by aging lithium-ion batteries

Apple says its biggest iPhone Duo secret wasn’t the foldable itself — it was the display. Apple marketing chief Greg Joswiak says leaks revealed that the company was working on a foldable, allowing Samsung, Huawei and Xiaomi to figure out the Duo’s unusual wide aspect ratio before Apple launched it. But Apple claims competitors didn’t know about its key display technology. The iPhone Duo uses a custom nano-texture finish designed to reduce glare and make the fold crease less noticeable. Apple says it added extra security around the technology and kept it under wraps. That makes the Duo story more interesting than a simple “copycat” debate: Apple may have lost the surprise on the design — but it says the real innovation was still hidden.

Everyone keeps calling the Apple Vision Pro's UI "Magical" I NEEDED to try it out for myself. The Quest Pro is capable of it so I made a demo using eye tracking and hand tracking replicating the Apple UI. Its really good. APK for everyone to try the "Vision UI Experience" soon, Video with my takeaways Sooner.

The Pro line of iPhones used to represent the pinnacle of elegance and luxurious iPhone design. Apple is now moving to a more industrialized design language for the Pro models. I don’t like the shift.

What an innovation! 😲Indians have finally discovered contactless payments! #ccgeek #ccgeeks #Applepay #applefan #axis #creditcard Just like when Apple launched its Calculator app 2 years ago on iPad and revolutionised mathematics worldwide. Before that, billions of people were apparently doing calculations with pen and paper. 🤯 Thank you, Apple, for taking humanity to the next level! Am I right, Apple fans?🍎🤣

After eight years as The Iveys and following their 1969 hit “Come and Get It,” Apple Records wanted to give them a fresh identity. You know them now as what name?

Apple celebrates its 50th birthday next week, which is a reminder that “Forrest Gump” has Hollywood’s best angel investment ever: Gump and Lt. Dan early in Apple. They get to Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak before the April 1976 launch and prior to first official $250k check from Mike Markkula, who briefly owned 1/3rd of Apple for his investment. That would value at Apple at $750k. Since Gump and Lt. Dan were unsophisticated shrimp guys instead of tech investors, they probably got pinched on valuation by Jobs and paid $100k for 10% of Apple. That would be worth $180m at the Apple IPO in 1980 ($1.8B market cap). An 1,800x return in 5 years. Gump is a loyal dude so probably sold everything when Jobs was booted in 1985. On the other hand, he thought Apple was a fruit company and is financially illiterate…so Gump is likely still holding that stake, which is now worth $300B+ (my calculator broke trying to figure out the ROI).

Apple still sets the bar for software design. The way movies on Vision Pro reflect in the icy river of the new Iceland environment during the day, and how the snow softly glows at night, genuinely gives me goosebumps.

I’m just gonna say it: I’m disappointed with iOS 27. - It is fast, sure. - It is snappy too. - It fixes many bugs that were there since iOS 26. - It improves Liquid Glass drastically. The problem is, when I heard at WWDC26 that Apple is making iOS 27 all about optimization and polish, I was expecting iOS to return to its former glory of iOS 15. But, iOS 27 is not even 70% polished as iOS 15 was. There’s so many little things and attention to details that iOS 15 had and iOS 27 simply doesn’t. Here’s a few examples: - When you picked up a call before the contact poster update in iOS 17, using the swipe gesture, the swipe indicator itself transitions into the red hang-up button. Smoothly. On iOS 27, there’s no such transition. It just happens. - On iOS 27, the Photos app is still very slow and janky in the Collections tab. It takes several seconds for everything to load. - Just look at the Safari below. It’s just so smooth, flowy, and animations are designed so well before the Liquid Glass update. iOS 27 Safari feels like a huge downgrade. I was expecting iOS 27 to work on these little details around the system that have been going away since iOS 16. But it didn’t.

🫡😠Apple takes a dark turn in the EU when the DMA forced them to open iOS to everyone. Instead of walking in the shoes that developers have for years (14+ for us) and realizing they have made tech restrictions so harsh that it’s made anyone outside of the “NC-17” rated based AppStore harmed and a “outsider”. Now, they have eliminated the one option we all had.. PWA/web apps (save to home screen) apps. They didn’t stop there.. they went further, now they expect to be paid fees and more and for developers to keep an account for all installs and usage. Not to worry guys, we have already planned ahead for this for months now. We will continue to develop and grow our apps (more are coming). My goal has always been to create the best experience we all deserve. Now we have more options that they can’t control completely. It’s just a lot of work towards what we had for over a decade now has to be rewritten and changed. 🧑🏻‍💻😳🙄🥱😒🧐🤓 - PiGBoss (full article here):
