It’s NEVER too soon to begin reading to your baby. ⏰ In fact, doing so while your little one is still in utero will begin familiarizing your soon-to-be newborn with the voices of the adults who will comprise their “circle of trust” after birth. Once your baby is born,... show more

My grandson at almost 12 months in his “reading chair.”

💯 Also it’s never too early to introduce babies to music. My son’s kicks were almost in time and definitely more than ‘fluttering” when I watched Chicago.

Children's librarian here. Oh, my heart!

If you read to your kids for 5 minutes a day, you expose them to 500 words, give or take. Over the course of 10 years, that's over 1.8M words. If you read to them for 30 minutes a day, that's 10.8M words. Yes, many of those words will be repeats. But plenty won't. If you want to give your kids a leg up read to them early and often.

Kiddo started getting value out of books way sooner than I expected. The second useful thing she learned to do with her hands, after sucking her thumb, was turn pages.

Baby babble is so cute

This is so true. Did I hear at the end of the first book a “wow wow”, or am I imagining the onomatopoeia for the dog? Lol Look at my student how she pretends to read to the “baby” in the nursery center 😍

We have our 22m grandson 1X a week. After lunch he may not want his nap but I just say, "Let's go upstairs and look at your books." He scampers up the stairs. We have 3 favourites there that he reads in a certain order! I have another new one for next wk to add to our fun.

We read to our boys from in utero. When the oldest went off to college, he was given a budget except for books, I left that unlimited. That is until I had to remortgage the house to cover all those stories!!!!!

That delivery! The kiddo is gonna be narrating audio books. I’d listen to him reading War and Peace!
