Cybercab testing underway again today at the Giga Texas track, along with Model YL rough road testing too. The Cybercabs were in one massive group, racing around the outer oval and stopping together at stoplights placed ont eh W side of the oval. The Model YL’s were repeatedly driving over the linear parts f the inner oval where various road surfaces have been created. I cannot say for sure, but it appears to be NVH testing if I had to guess. We have seen CYbercabs also testing on this section of the track previously. Check out the track activity from today!

INCREMENTALITY FOR RETENTION One of my favorite topics. Yes, you absolutely should be running incrementality tests on your email, sms, upsell efforts. This is the canonical use case for holdout testing No, we haven’t productized this at Haus. Why not? Connor Rolain answers that eloquently in this clip — you can run user level studies yourself! Unlike acquisition testing, in retention you already have the user data you need to cleanly segment audiences into treatment and control groups and run holdouts. I think their call for Haus to advise on this as a service is interesting. I’ve always thought of incrementality testing in retention largely as a solved problem but maybe that’s wrong. If you struggle here, hit me up. Would love to learn about where this breaks down in practice. Once again the over/under segment does not disappoint.

At the Giga Texas Test Track, we see some of it is being used now, with railed lanes, a long line of rumble strips, paint marks & cones … these are in the area where I showed a ground video yesterday of Cybercabs testing with acceleration runs. I’ve included a portion of that video in this one showing the location on the track. Speaking of Cybercab testing, we see 7 set up along with a trailer, that looks like the LIDAR testing rigs that usually we see on the roofs of vehicles driving around streets for camera validation testing & more in what seems to be a temporary dedicated testing facility until a more permanent one is completed. Still more asphalt work to complete the inner portions fo the track, but it is definitely partially operational now and being used! Very nice to see!
