I've been practicing a lot more with scenegraph and niagara since learning we could control them with SG (please Epic let me have access to the events, pretty please!) Not sure what I'll do with it, but I like how it responds to the player! #UEFN #Scenegraph #Niagara

Hah! made exact same thing 5yrs ago on UE4! But used CamPosition directly in NS as the force/effector! Now got excited to make it again on fn!

hah brilliant :)

I could see that being something of a shield barrier? Could make it where it reacts to players shots/ projectiles and have it react more volontly under prolonged fire.

@Rox_Straw_Pilot hmm, i could maybe fake it with a raycast but I can't detect weapon fire with it :(

Looks cool! but is it performance heavy? you have lots of thise tiny spheres moving

@itay_ha6 No very light indeed. Its on the GPU.

It's too good to be true 😂

if it didnt have to rely on such a cracy number of particles this would be such a fun effect for something like a custom storm wall

when we will be able to customize our own Walls Stairs Floor and Roofs ?

Good question, at the moment we've got no access to it so it's probably a post process effect sadly

please if you have contacts in epicgames let them know that could be a good game changer they stopped sending me the Surveys, maybe because i was so hard on them... they need to wake up

Nice 👏

Love it

Thanks!

really nice

Thank you!

Nice

wow this looks insane, congrats!

@octo_manager Thanks!

Deployable shields for firefights seems like an obvious use, walking through them scatters it and takes a while to recohere, making the shields no good for melee. Shooting through them could be a trick by getting close to make enough space to fire.

Crazy idea: make it a destructible wall with pieces going everywhere! It would make for a really good effect they could use for heroic projects and such 😍

Would be cool in a racing map as some kind of secret path

That looks incredible! How do things like that perform and look on low end devices?

Erm, I haven't tried it - but i'll do it on my phone later and report back - it should be okay.

Parkor map like mirrors edge 🔥😭

If you could make this a storms animation this would be so cool that or some kind of futuristic door. Thinking little out side of the box but maybe even a nano suit (that might be a bit complex)

This is awesome!

Thanks!

How are you learning about niagara? wanting to learn more over christmas

😍

Love it! Niagara is on my beckett list of things to truly learn

Yeah so it always scared me because it looks really complicated but as soon as I learned that the emitter and each particle has variables you can just mess with then it sort of clicked.

this is sick!

Thanks. I dont really know what i was going for other than a wobbly wall that reacted to the player haha

Could make a cool portal

A storm barrier effect with this would be very cool.

It really would but that tiny wall is already 10000 particles, imagine a whole storm haha!

Well, that storm would aslo be known as the PC burner isn't it? Jokes aside, just if there's a way to optimize it...

This is sick bro!

You could use this to make some sort of portal?

Yeah thats what im thinking!
