Just check out how fast he's already moving when the camera gets to him, his brilliance is in the first second of the play into his top 1% speed.

This ball had just a 55% catch probability, and is just made to look so easy by Ceddanne Rafaela. It's all about what you don't see on the screen, because it happens before the camera is on the play. The jump is 9.0 feet above average. He was positioned well into right-center. Lesser outfielders win catch on the week on this one with a full extension dive.

I really want Noelvi Marte to be good in CF, but this was pretty rough. Took a step in. Then kind of never sprinted. His average sprint speed is 29 feet/per second. On this play, it was just 26.8. MLB had it as an 80% catch probability for him.

I've probably watched this play 25 times. 75% probability. Crow-Armstrong only needs to get to 25 ft/sec, he has 30+ ft/sec at his disposal. As somebody who watches A LOT of outfield plays, there are dozens of guys who turn this into a Catch of the Year nominee...

Not a change, but I've had a TON of folks asking if this is getting changed from June 10. This is a ball hit by Mookie Betts of the Los Angeles Dodgers and it was ruled an error on Jake Mangum of the Pittsburgh Pirates. The only thing I can think of is that Mookie didn't appeal, because this is a base hit, it's always been a base hit, and it will continue to be a base hit. Except on this one play. There is no way a sliding attempt like this is an error. I know Mangum broke the wrong way, but that doesn't factor it ... it's the catch, the physical catch, and there is ZERO CHANCE this is ordinary effort. I know we talk changes here, but this non-change is the most confounding one for me since Aaron Judge's first career walk-off hit, which was the most obvious fielder's choice of all time, but because it was the last play of the season, it didn't get appealed or changed.
