If you removed the metal angle the tailgate is attached to those boards would come right out without all the prying. Then the new boards just slip in. Then just weld back on the angle. Much less effort.

He should've rented a trailer stretcher. That's the proper method.

You do know if you removed all the old boards first you could slip the new ones in laying flat at an angle right ?

You should only have to do that once. 1. Take out all boards 2. Put in almost all boards by going cockeyed and sliding them in 3. Last board is a bender

Thanks for your contribution

Use a cryogenic freezer to freeze the boards to shrink. Then use a flame manifold to heat the entire metal frame to 450 degrees so it expands. Mount it on a large 240V turntable, rest the boards on the frame and spin it up real fast. Centrifugal force will slide them right in.

If you buy anything above the most cheaply built trailer you can find, the front piece of angle is usually bolted down. Just remove it and drop in the boards.

That's a lot of work

Yea

Cut an 8 inch section off one of the top brackets, drop and position all the boards. Drill and bolt the top bracket piece back into place. For those who can't weld.

Mine bolt in. No games and tight as hell after 25 years.

Cut the metal strip, by grinding the welds, he is shoving the board under. Then simply lay the boards down. Place the metal strip down and bolt thru the strip and boards. When that bent board snaps up and takes his face off. That is a stupid way to fix that.

Mine has a metal L bracket with bolts on the front of the trailer. Unbolt. Remove old boards. Install new ones. Bolt back down. That's some bullshit right there. Bad design.

This is an injury waiting to happen.

I did this. I used a jack on the floor (need a helper) to bow the board, while I held down the end of the board, helper lowers the jack, board slides in.

Using a floor jack under the middle of the board is easier and less stressful on the board.

That sigh was like “damn it I have 5 more to do”

Better way is to push one board in as far as it will go, saw other end off even with the lip, then pull board 50/50 on lip for both ends, screw it down!, you should only have’t to do this for last board!.

By far the stupidest thing I’ve seen today

Cut front ledge. Place boards in place. Drill cut ledge for a hole in middle of each board. Drill boards through to bottom ledge and then bolt everything bac& on..

The last one will be funny as hell

Proud of my boy.

I am trying to figure out why he had all those boards in the head of the trailer in the first place?

Isn't this just common sense ? Am I missing something , or are there that many people out there that cannot figure anything out with the brain GOD gave them ?

just reminds me to ensure i take care and protect the boards

Use a baby board and water it so it grows and expands.

lol cut the front tab holding them down, put the new boards in and weld the tab back down

looks like an idiot

I’ve done it without cutting the ends off but I used a floor jack and blocks in the middle. Way easier 1 man job

Been there done that. Used a front end loader with a chain and 3/4” rod as the fulcrum, stood on the end and my son raised the bucket till it fit, then lowered the bucket. Not difficult at all with help. No welding needed.

Right idea, wrong placement of cross block to bend.

it blows! you have to cut them long to catch a permanent edge and then start screwing down

Damn, I’ve haven’t seen someone make a relativity easy job so difficult in quite a while…

Drop out the angle the boards set in, if ya wanna make it fancy butterfly both board connections and put lock straps in em call it a day

Não seria si colocalas
