I’ve officially open-sourced SYLVA. 🌲 SYLVA is a fully procedural cinematic forest that runs directly in the browser. Terrain, trees, roots, grass, water, sky, clouds, fog, and weather are generated at runtime using Three.js, WebGL2, and GLSL, without downloaded tree models, textures, HDRIs, or terrain heightmaps. Trees are procedurally... grown, terrain is generated mathematically, and the world includes dynamic water, atmosphere, vegetation LODs, rain, lightning, wind, storms, fireflies, birds, and a cinematic camera system. The demo is also interactive. Open the EDITOR to change the environment, visual presets, quality, weather states, wind and storms, move through different times of day, or simply walk around and explore the forest yourself. The project is still actively being developed, and there’s a ridiculous amount left to improve, optimize, and experiment with. But that’s also why I wanted to open it now. SYLVA is MIT-licensed, so you can explore the code, learn from it, modify it, fork it, optimize it, or use it as the foundation for something completely different. I open-sourced my 3d towers building site and the skills I used to create well-textured three.js models. The entire site is 1.38mb gzipped, including all models, sounds and textures. Site: Github repo: Skills: - threejs-towers - threejs-weather - threejs-landscape With an open-source project you get a way better starting point. All you need is to ask what to change, how to improve it, and rebuild it for a different theme. I added Cambodia, Vietnam and Turkey, plus storms and blizzards, and those came out perfectly with one prompt. The foundation is done, so adapting it and pairing it with your taste is what takes it further. Try modern towers, different backgrounds, weather and styles. SimCity, Civilization, Warcraft, C&C, etc. It's really fun.

Ran Fable Ultracode overnight to build out a prototype for Terrain Pro. I asked it to build out an erosion model, some procedural textures and terrain editing tools. Honestly, this looks terrible and isn't passable quality for anything except a vibe-coded game. The issue with making high quality terrain is you need a lot of high quality textures (grass, dirt, pebbles, sand) and props (trees, rocks) to go along with the underlying terrain mesh. Otherwise it's just an erosion tech demo. I'm using EZ-Tree right now to populate the trees, but EZ-Tree also isn't where it needs to be to support the vision I have in mind. I could use something like SpeedTree, but that might get pricey. If anyone knows of a good library of textures/assets with reasonable licensing terms, let me know in the comments!

One of my favorite things about open source is seeing someone take an idea and run with it. The original ABYSSAL started as a procedural ocean and extreme-weather simulation. Now someone has built "ABYSSAL - The Living Deep" on top of it: a continuous world from the waterline to a 1,400-meter trench, with coral reefs, kelp forests, whales, sharks, deep-sea creatures, procedural habitats, currents, lighting and exploration. This is why open source is worth it. People can contribute from different directions, build on the same work, and reach results that would be difficult to imagine alone, sometimes in an incredibly short time. A really impressive set of Three.js graphics experiments just got open sourced, and these are much more than little visual demos. They are basically reusable procedural systems for oceans, vegetation, fluids and even whole planets. 🔹 Poseidon A real-time FFT ocean running on WebGPU. It simulates large swells, smaller ripples, foam, reflections, choppy displacement and physically inspired wave spectra entirely in the browser. 🔹 Gaia A procedural grass generator where every blade, seed head and field comes from a deterministic genome and environmental parameters. No authored grass models. 🔹 Dryad A procedural flora system that generates trees and other plant forms from physics, environmental conditions and a seed. No authored 3D models or textures are needed for the plants themselves. 🔹 Tiamat A real-time GPU fluid simulation using around 100,000 SPH particles, with the resulting water rendered directly in the browser. 🔹 Demiurge Probably the craziest one. It procedurally builds an entire planet from tectonic plates, then lets uplift drive erosion, erosion and latitude drive climate, and climate drive biomes, wind and weather. You can move seamlessly from orbit down to the surface. What I really like here is that these are not just pretty outputs. They are actual building blocks. Ocean simulation, vegetation generation, fluid dynamics and procedural worlds are exactly the kinds of systems that can be plugged into games, simulations and agent-built 3D environments. I made an interactive three.js site that constructs towers with weather and time of day effects. I went from making mostly static sites with huge images to three.js with highly textured, detailed 3D models, and the entire site is under 1-2mb. Because it's 3D, you can ask AI to customize everything: themed towers from different countries, ancient and modern styles, weather like snow and rain, lighting from morning to night. The surprising part is that with a solid foundation it creates those changes pretty much one-shot. It's like starting a design system, where the AI figures out how to stay consistent in quality with the rest of the design. The hard part is avoiding 3D slop, which is easier thanks to Opus 5 and open-source projects. I used Claude Code for the harness, Higgsfield to generate textures and soundfx/music. Let me know if you'd like the open-source. Inspiration: Btw, I love that we get auto-translated posts from around the world. It really expands our horizon in terms of inspiration.

Day 5 of building the game I've wanted to play for 15 years with AI. Environment again. The map looked right but felt dead, so today was about giving it life. Claude carried today. A pile of small things: animated cloud shadows, animated trees, grass that changes per location, and a rework of my water shader to fit the style. Claude also helped with decals: cracks across the ground, crop fields, details like that. The one I like most: units now hide in forests. Vision inside the woods is limited, but troops walk through them freely. And tree color grading. I did it procedurally in a shader, tints shift slightly with distance. Even on generated trees everything reads far more interesting now. It can still be better. The map is alive. I have a long list of ideas for this layer and I'll keep going tomorrow. 3D models are coming next, and I'll slowly fill all of this in. Leaving very happy tonight.

Be it Aarey, Hasedo, Aravalli, Narmada Bachao, Save Lakshadweep or even Save HCU people are protesting against government NOT because it is their land or their trees or their water. ALRIGHT! Introducing SEEDTHREE! A Three.js webgpu procedural plant generator. I'm releasing this fully open source. I built this with Claude Fable and GPT-5.5 Codex + gptimage2 over just the past few days. The best part is: given the code, your agents can add new plants to it all you want! They just need an understanding of the code and an image generator capable of creating material maps. I highly encourage you to do PRs for any extra plants you add! I'll be adding more myself in future versions. The system is fully robust: it provides complete LOD and billboards/imposters generation for the plants and you can adjust the detail levels all you want for different platform targets like mobile and/or use lower LODs as your main for extreme optimization. As this is the first release alpha version, some bugs may have been missed, I encourage you to report any bugs. The repo includes all the assets for the scenery world too, even the ambient sounds of birds and wind! This is targeted at high end laptop and PC use, it requires baking generated geometry, so you won't be using this on a phone (I mean, feel free to try, but I doubt it'll run well, lol). How many of you actually know how "what you eat" grows? 🤔 I never learned crop science in school. I learned it by walking around our farm with my father, who showed me different crops and explained how they grow. But not everyone has access to a farm, so I built a 3D Crop Science application in Three.js using Claude Opus 5 to make that learning experience more visual and interactive. It is an exploration of different types of seeds where each seed has three different stages. The first stage shows the whole seed. The second stage is a cross section that shows what is inside the seed and how it grows. The third stage shows the germination phase through a 3D model. There are 24 models in total. The original models were 1,349.6 MB, which Claude optimized down to just 11.6 MB in total. All of the 3D models were generated using Tripo. Claude also created visual information for each seed showing details like seed type, storage tissue and germination phase. Each seed also has a YouTube video that shows how it actually grows in the real world. There is also a section showing where each seed is commonly grown using both a 3D globe and a flat map. You can explore different regions and click on specific areas to see more information about where that seed is grown. The entire experience is fully responsive and also includes quizzes that you can take in both normal and 3D formats. I strongly believe education becomes much more effective when you can see, interact, watch and explore instead of relying only on textbooks. Live: Code:

Being There (1979) is a cinematic ink blot test, and we still don’t have a definitive answer for why Peter Sellers walks on water in the final shot. Is it a Christ allegory? Or is it the purest visual metaphor for Chance: a man so unburdened by ego, that he simply glides through life without ever breaking the surface. Or are we, like everyone in the film, projecting meaning onto a simple gardener and calling it a miracle? Maybe the joke's on us, life could be just a state of mind after all.

Opus 5 is so good at creating these exploded-view and wireframe three.js product sites. Give it a video reference and it can build the experience directly in three.js or Blender. Then keep improving the details, textures, and lighting with follow-up prompts. I got our entire design team to turn landing pages built around images and video into three.js sites. They're lighter and easier to prompt. Since everything is code, AI can make more precise changes with fewer iterations. The difference between the old image-based sites and the new three.js versions is staggering. I can also jump in after the team finishes and help refine the details. Btw, is getting 100K views a day, which is absolutely nuts. The repo reached 3.8K GitHub stars in 4 days. It's my fastest-growing open-source project by far. So I added 60 more components. Opus 5 is so good at creating these exploded-view and wireframe three.js product sites. Give it a video reference and it can build the experience directly in three.js or Blender. Then keep improving the details, textures, and lighting with follow-up prompts. I got our entire design team to turn landing pages built around images and video into three.js sites. They're lighter and easier to prompt. Since everything is code, AI can make more precise changes with fewer iterations. The difference between the old image-based sites and the new three.js versions is staggering. I can also jump in after the team finishes and help refine the details. Btw, is getting 100K views a day, which is absolutely nuts. The repo reached 3.8K GitHub stars in 4 days. It's my fastest-growing open-source project by far. So I added 60 more components. I love prototyping. It’s the most important thing that sets great software above the merely good. And to that end, here’s a project a couple of us have been hacking away on, and the team is ready to add people in mass to the TestFlight. It’s an open source version of a visual programming environment, similar to Origami or Quartz Composer. In addition to being able to build anything those two can, it also supports AR, CoreML, and native 3D support. As well as being built in SwiftUI, so it runs on basically any Apple device and is easy to hack on and improve.

Announcing the Open Model Series: a new series on open source AI models, with merve of Hugging Face. Hugging Face is the open model hub: it hosts model weights, datasets, evals, & demo apps, and maintains the open-source libraries (like transformers) used to run and train them. I think of it like GitHub, but for AI models. You can download open models and run them on your own machines. In this series we'll cover what open source and open weight models are, how they work, how to run them yourself, and why they're important. By the way - this video is edited entirely with Claude! Rockstar just announced GTA 6 preorders open June 25. We are at day 9 of building my own with a loop of AI agents, and the streets finally have people in them. The map's set, so I'm leaving it as it is and slowly adding more stuff into it. the honest part: everyone's hyping Unreal's new 5.8 update and its official MCP. I tried it for whole night. My feedback is not to update it yet. The 5.8 MCP isn't like crazy good, and it actually slows the build down. Chasing the newest version felt like the obvious move. it wasn't. the loop runs better without it. Repo's still open, the project just lives in Unreal now. Theirs is a preorder. mine you can pull and run yourself.
