Newly released transcripts and videos show that former special counsel Jack Smith told lawmakers that the Jan. 6 riot, "does not happen without President Trump." That's from a closed-door hearing earlier this month with the House Judiciary Committee, where lawmakers grilled Smith for eight hours over two criminal investigations he launched into Trump. One focused on the president's role in trying to overturn the results of the 2020 election, while the other related to classified documents after Trump's first term ended. Smith said the choice to bring criminal charges against Trump was his alone, but added, "The basis for those charges rests entirely with President Trump and his actions."

The most important question from Jack Smith's Congressional Testimony: Congresswoman Roth : Do you believe that Donald Trump motivated and was responsible for the violence that occurred on that day even if he didn't walk with them to the Capitol?" Smith: Yes, as we stated in our report, the results of our investigation following the facts and the following the law was that he was the person most responsible for what happened at the Capitol and he caused what would happen at the Capitol and that it was foreseeable to him "

Q: “To the extent members of Congress are up in arms this happened to them, who should be held accountable?” JACK SMITH: “Trump. He directed his co-conspirators to call them to delay the proceedings.” As Sen. Marsha Blackburn Senator Bill Hagerty try to take millions from taxpayers. 🤔

Jack Smith makes the huge mistake of appearing publicly and brazenly saying his fraudulent charges against President Trump, that were all dismissed, were not political. The lawfare against Trump was 100% political. Smith should get life in prison.

Jack Smith: Those records corroborated evidence that we had that President Trump and his co-conspirators were seeking to exploit the violence on January 6th in furtherance of their criminal scheme. They were taking the fact that law enforcement officers had been brutally assaulted at this institution and using that to seek to delay the proceedings further in violation of the law. It was an important part of our investigation and it was centrally relevant to the issue of criminal intent.

BREAKING: Jack Smith says that he does not understand why Donald Trump would pardon people who assaulted law enforcement. He says the people who defended the Capitol that day are heroes. Give me a thumbs up 👍 and a share if you agree with Jack! 👍

Was the assassination attempt on President Trump an attack? Trump’s judicial nominee Daniel Domenico (10th Cir.) thinks so. But was January 6th an attack on the Capitol? Were police officers attacked? Judge Domenico won’t say. Trump doesn't want his crony judges admitting to Richard Blumenthal or anyone on the Senate Judiciary Committee what actually happened that day. They are not fit for this lifetime position.

White House: Witkoff informed the Qataris before the attack. Trump feels very badly about the location of the Israeli attack. Trump believes this incident can serve as an opportunity for peace. Trump assured the Qataris that a similiar attack will not happen again.

Q: Donald Trump is coming to the Capitol to meet with Republicans for the first time since the January 6 attack. Have you spoken to him about not doing anything like that again and committing to respecting the American tradition of the peaceful transfer of power? Mike Johnson: Of course he respects that (No, he clearly does not)

Phang: If Republican senators and congressmen have an issue with their cell records being obtained by Jack Smith, they should take it up with Trump. Because Trump himself ordered his co-conspirators, and Donald Trump himself made phone calls to delay and to make sure that those election results were not certified on January 6th. Why? To further the conspiracy to achieve the end goal of him staying in office. End of story.

President Trump authorized 10,000 troops to defend the Capitol on January 6th. Jack Smith doesn’t want jurors to know this. Kinda kills the insurrection story.

Trump: This is a deal that should have never happened. This is a deal that would not have happened, and it didn't happen for four years, not even close to happening if I were president. Would not have happened. October 7th would have happen— not have happened

Jack Smith testified under oath that he filed charges against President Trump without regard to President Trump's political association Meanwhile, the same Jack Smith attended an anti-Trump "Power to the People" concert this weekend wearing a "No Kings" protest shirt Perjury?

Today, Congressional Republicans didn’t seek the truth. They tried to put the prosecutor on trial. Jack Smith told the Senate what the evidence showed: Donald Trump lost the 2020 election, then criminally worked to overturn it — pressuring officials, organizing fake electors, and inciting the attack on the Capitol. Instead of facing that record, too many Republicans in Congress chose party over country and attacked Jack Smith.

Question: To the extent members of Congress and senators are up in arms that this happened to them and are seeking accountability, who should be held accountable? Smith: I think who should be accountable for this is Donald Trump. These records exist because, in the case of the senators, Donald Trump directed his co-conspirators to call these people to further delay the proceedings. He chose to do that. If Donald Trump had chosen to call a number of Democratic senators, we would have gotten toll records for Democratic senators. So the responsibility for why these records were collected lies with Donald Trump.
