THE MILKY WAY IS ABOUT 100,000 LIGHT-YEARS WIDE. That means light — traveling at 299,792 kilometers per second — would need 100,000 years to cross our galaxy from one side to the other. It contains an estimated 100–400 billion stars, including our Sun, orbiting a supermassive black hole about 4 million times the mass of the Sun. 🚨 NASA JUST FOUND THE RAW INGREDIENTS OF DNA INSIDE A ROCK OLDER THAN EARTH ITSELF. Samples returned from the asteroid Bennu contain complex organic molecules including precursors to DNA and RNA, plus many of the amino acids used by all life on Earth.
