Since making her first appearance in a 2021 one-act drama, she has begun pursuing acting in earnest. The project that marked her new beginning as “actress Kim Yerim,” after leaving the agency she had been with for many years, was last month’s release Gangryeong: The Ghost Game. This film, her big-screen debut, is a teen horror story about high school students filming a video on spirit-summoning to submit to a contest. Kim Yerim took on the role of Ja-young, the protagonist who faces unbearable terror, leaving a striking impression with her performance. “𝑺𝒉𝒆 𝒌𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒌𝒊𝒅𝒔.” Those three words, screamed by a father on a 911 call— heard for the first tome—just ripped through a Massachusetts courtroom. A reporter who sat there and heard the full audio told Brian Entin it was the worst thing they have ever heard in their life. Patrick Clancy finds his wife on the ground after she jumped from a second-story window. He’s begging her to stay awake. “𝑳𝒐𝒐𝒌 𝒂𝒕 𝒎𝒆. 𝑺𝒂𝒚 𝒎𝒚 𝒏𝒂𝒎𝒆.” Then he goes to check on the children. What follows is pure, unbroken anguish. 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴. 𝗪𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽. “𝑺𝒉𝒆 𝒌𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒌𝒊𝒅𝒔! 𝑺𝒉𝒆 𝒌𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒌𝒊𝒅𝒔!” The dispatcher goes quiet for a second, then mutters, “Holy shit.” Lindsay Clancy sat at the defense table with her face in her hands, sobbing. Jurors wiped away tears. The judge had to call a recess. Three little children — Cora, Dawson, and baby Callan — strangled with exercise bands in their own basement. 𝗕𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿. That 911 call captured the exact moment a father realized his entire world had just been destroyed. Gut wrenching agony. Some sounds never leave you.⚖️💕
