J-Cal's Path Forward for Young People Leaning Toward Socialism: Radical Self-Reliance, Avoid Debt, Acquire Skills "There is actually a path out of here. Which is telling the truth to young people." The real issue isn't young people's aspirations—it's a system that peddles debt slavery through federally-backed student loans while universities pocket $500B annually to fund bloated bureaucracies instead of marketable skills. Socialist pipe dreams like NYC's proposed government grocery stores ignore basic economics: when DC tried price controls in the 1970s, shelves went empty. The answer? Crush the college cartel by making student debt dischargeable in bankruptcy, forcing schools to compete on ROI. Austin and Miami aren't just geographic escapes—they're proof that slashing red tape and prioritizing vocational training over gender studies creates real opportunity. Radical self-reliance starts with killing the idea that taxpayers should fund $200K degrees in underwater basket-weaving while China outpaces us in AI and advanced manufacturing. See how entrenched interests profit while American competitiveness erodes:

Mamdani is the son of two independently wealthy multi-millionaire elites. He went to a $50k per year private school. He grew up in absolute luxury. He lived off of their money - allowing him to be a failed rapper. He rapped about praising terrorists and America deserving 9/11. If that’s who you’re expecting to make your life better - you deserve to suffer. Wake up.

@Jason this neeeds to be addressed if you want to get young people to think about capitalism. The wealth gap is too wide and there is no middle class. Everyone is effed and that’s not their fault they’ve been thrown to the wolves we created.

I would bet @Jason hasn’t actually spoken to the young socialists (age 18-25). Everything he’s saying is true. Now, show us where they’re capable of listening, rational thought, and changing their minds.

You all don't seem to understand that there simply aren't enough higher paying jobs (relative to cost of living) for the population as a whole- if the top ~10% of jobs are high paying, the other 90% are screwed regardless of how hard they work due to scarcity of high income work

@Jason that's a very well structured thought. I hope you find your calling in educating young people with such pearls of wisdom. The younger generation will be grateful.

This all began when Obama nationalized the student loan business. It meant the colleges had no market limitations - anyone could get a loan regardless of ability to pay. The potential income for their chosen field was ignored. And Socialism took root.

This part: Go to another state where radical self-reliance and your ability to create your own opportunities and not get suckered into this debt spiral, that is the path out."

A rare good take from JCal. He is spot on here. And the last two weeks has been tolerable….3 weeks ago tho….
