Here is why I disengaged FSD 14.3.3. Before this clip starts, I could see a semi coming down the on ramp and saw that it had some momentum. FSD did not slow down but the truck in the right lane would have ran into the other semi and either had to brake real hard or switch lanes. I took over to make it clear to the semi driver that I would let them over. No big deal, would be nice, if FSD could have seen that coming and facilitated that move. Tesla AI

Almost got into an accident this afternoon while on FSD. FSD thought the FedEx truck would make its turn quicker. When it realized it couldn't, it tried to go around. At the same time, there was a car approaching in the right lane. I assume FSD calculated there was space for me in the right lane, but it really should have just slowed down. I had to slam on the brakes and steer the car to the left to avoid the driver side of my car clipping the trucks bumper. It was way too close for comfort. I have done tens of thousands of miles on FSD and have never had anything this close happen before.

FSD took me into the HOV lane yet again today despite me being the only passenger in the car. This time when I yanked it back into non-HOV lane and tried to engage FSD again, it blinked red asking me to take over immediately and displayed a message on screen saying FSD aborted due to system error. FSD appears to have trouble detecting barrier arm from a distance. It reacted only at the last second at high speed, attempted to move over, and ended up striking it. This looks like a supervision failure as much as an FSD failure.

With the foggy brain I subscribed to FSD just for the month to help me get around while recovering. I am fully recovered but get to enjoy the rest of the month of FSD. FSD 14.2.2.5 on Mad Max gets pulled over by a State Trooper for speeding 🚔🚨 A few interesting observations: When passing the State Trooper, FSD saw the vehicle and moved over into the left lane to yield more space (albeit without slowing down). When the trooper turned his lights on, FSD did initiate a turn signal as if it was going to pull off onto the shoulder. Unfortunately, I disengaged at this point and didn’t get to see if FSD would’ve actually stopped. Fortunately, only a warning was issued for speeding (allegedly). 🎟️

Then I looked back at the footage and saw that the car to my left veered into my lane and FSD moved me over so I didn't get hit. We drive with two eyes that can only see in one direction. FSD is seeing all around the car AT ALL TIMES!

I had the harshest braking on fsd 14.2 going ~65mph on the interstate today. I just pulled the video footage & I'm sharing this for transparency. It was 30 degrees this morning & I defrosted the car before driving. It appears the camera still didn't have full visibility yet & was driving up until this point with no red wheel errors / visibility issues. Fsd braked hard when it saw the VDOT person in the shoulder but it overreacted IMO cuz it shouldn't brake that hard if the person isn't moving towards the lane. After seeing that haze on the camera, idk why fsd wasn't throwing any warnings. I did have a red wheel error this afternoon but that footage doesn't show any visibility issues. Be vigilant & always be ready to intervene / disengage. Luckily I was ready and hit the accelerator instantly to avoid a worse situation. I also disengaged afterwards & submitted a voice note.

I seriously think FSD is getting more dangerous as it gets better. I wasn't expecting this at all from v14. It has been incredible in those conditions, creating complacency on my part. Thankfully, I was paying attention and was able to correct it before it fully committed and drove us into a ditch, but still. Scary.

My Cybertruck on FSD randomly appeared to be taking the wrong turn. Then seconds later I noticed it got over for an emergency vehicle. After the emergency vehicle drove past, the Cybertruck went back into the original lane. It somehow saw it before I did. Really impressive stuff.

Here’s a solid example of the lightning quick scan and response time that FSD is capable of. Going near 60 mph on this dark highway I could barely notice this pile of debris until I was right on top of it, but FSD saw it just in time and took appropriate evasive action avoiding what would have been a nasty hit at the very least.
