Despite the Framer hype, we still get tons of requests for custom Next.js + Tailwind sites. Because most founders and their teams don't want to learn another tool. They want to own their code, not rent it. Just shipped a landing page in Next.js for a SaaS. Their reasoning: - Full control over performance optimization - No vendor lock-in - Developers can maintain it without learning Framer - Custom functionality without workarounds - Better SEO control Sure, Framer is faster to build. But he no-code movement sold everyone on "anyone can build websites now" and forgot that someone still needs to maintain them. What's your take: Custom code for control or no-code for speed?

We rebuilt Kiyotaka for v4.0. Still 100% free to use for all chart enjoyers. This is the biggest product release we’ve shipped yet: a complete redesign, major UI/UX upgrades, new search, new chart types, better tooling, faster performance, new color themes, and a much improved execution interface. With more coming next week. But v4 is bigger than a feature drop. Kiyotaka now feels faster, clearer, and much more intentional to use. This marks a major turning point in how Kiyotaka works and where it’s going next.

I built a clone of the Yeezy store with Next.js. This was a fun challenge — the site has some smooth animations and feels very fast. But it was bothering me that I couldn't use the browser back button. Can we do better? So I rebuilt the site with v0 and Motion. Here's how it works: 1. When you click on a product, Motion is able to animate the original position of the product in the grid, to the zoomed in product detail page. 2. During this transition, we also shallow update the URL with the `/p/slug` route for the page. 3. If you press the back button in the navbar, or use the browser back button, or press escape — all options will take you back to the main product listing page. 4. If you reload the page while looking at a product, or someone sends you a link to a specific product, it still works! This is the best parts of a SPA and MPA mixed together. In the future, I can make this even better with View Transitions (I wasn't able to get the product animation just right, but if you can I'd love to see it!). I also took some creative liberties from the original design. The whole 1/2/3 size thing, where you needed to click the "?" to see SM/MD/LG was strange, so I just went directly to those sizes. Similarly, I prefered the more traditional style sheet/modal with the background color change, versus the full screen takeover. If you wanted to actually hook this up to Shopify now, you can swap the cart implementation with Next.js Commerce, which has all the APIs you need + optimistic writes 🔥 Should I make a video walking through the code?

two weeks in Shenzhen and it’s an been eye-opening experience im here for a month with MIT SCALE and the speed of hardware production is easily 10× faster than sf. from product concept to production, everything is streamlined within a single building. Nearly every component you could need is available immediately thru Taobao(e bay of China) or HQB and there are 24/7 makerspaces equipped to build anything from micrometer-scale PCBs to full assembly-line robots. What’s striking is that Shenzhen already has much of the hardware and robotics that startups in sf are still trying to build except these systems have been deployed and operating for years. The manufacturing capability, supply chain depth, and technical execution here are world-class. That said, one gap keeps surfacing: brand design, storytelling, and cohesive user experience. Software polish, UX consistency, and attention to detail often feel secondary. Take this with a grain of salt, but it increasingly feels like the company that pairs Shenzhen-level hardware velocity with strong design sensibility and UX-first thinking will dominate the market.

This is the silliest loophole in NYC. Every day, I see tons of people sitting in their cars for 90 minutes during the street cleaning times. If you sit in your car, you don't need to move it or get a ticket. At least not on the block near me. Microsoft's hidden Windows 11 trick makes apps launch 70% faster. I tested it on a low-end PC, and early results are promising. Right now, when you click Start, open File Explorer, launch Edge, or right-click for a context menu, and there’s often that tiny micro-stutter before anything happens. Microsoft is now testing a feature called Low Latency Profile. Once turned on, and you do a high-priority action, Windows 11 briefly pushes the CPU to max frequency for 1–3 seconds, finishes the task faster, then drops back down. In my testing on a constrained VM with just 2 cores and 4GB RAM, the difference was obvious. Edge, Outlook, Copilot, and the Start menu opened much faster. CPU usage spiked to around 96–97%, but only for a few seconds. For high-end PCs, the difference may be small. But for budget laptops and low-end Windows 11 machines, this could be a real game-changer.

Here's a photo I took from the weekly farm box we get in our kitchen, I set it as the product and then with Photo AI made it into a talking video where my trained AI model presents it It's not perfect, as the objects inside the farm box still move around a bit, but pretty close. If the product is more uniform (like lip gloss, a product box or a book) it does a pretty good job at keeping it exactly the same This "consistency" as they call it is quite important for actual real world use. $Sadly, many of our traditions are dying! A lot of people had nobody even show up at their houses for Halloween this year. Of those who did decide to go trick-or-treating, it was widely noticed that a much smaller fraction of houses had their lights on. What is the point of having a country if we lose everything we love? The only way to fix this is to shut down the border and deport every illegal! We can’t be generous unless we are happy and stable. That is step 1. Otherwise, in just a few short years, there won’t be anything left to fight for :($
