Marc Andreessen says raw intelligence might be the worst qualification for leadership — and it changes everything about how we should think about AI. "If the leader is more than one standard deviation of IQ away from the followers, it's a real problem." Andreessen points to the US military, one of the earliest and most rigorous adopters of IQ testing, as the source of this insight. They slot people into specialties and leadership roles based on IQ scores. And over the years, they kept seeing the same pattern. A leader who is significantly less intelligent than their people struggles to model how those people think. That part is intuitive. But the reverse turns out to be equally true. "It's actually very hard for very smart people to model the internal thought processes of even moderately smart people." A leader who is two standard deviations above the norm of the organisation they're running also loses theory of mind, that ability to hold an accurate model of what's happening inside someone else's head. The gap is too wide in both directions. Andreessen then takes this to its logical conclusion: "If you had a person or a machine that had a thousand IQ or something like it, its understanding of reality would be so alien to the people or the things that it was managing that it wouldn't even be able to connect in any sort of realistic way." An AI that vastly outthinks every human in the room isn't positioned to lead those humans. It's positioned to be completely incomprehensible to them. Leadership has never really been an intelligence problem. It's a connection problem. And no amount of raw intelligence closes that gap — past a certain point, it only widens it. The world will not be run by the smartest thing in the room for a long time. Maybe ever.

Now data from the most prominent IQ scientist Richard Lynn confirms the average IQ of Iran to be 84 (Citation 'The Wealth of Nations (2002), pg.133'. Which conversely is not only 20 points lower than your outrageous 104 IQ claim but is also even lower than Iraq which is 87. Now of course in a country of 90 million people you might have a million people with an IQ of 104 and let’s say 90,000 people with an IQ of >129 (See Normal Distribution charts attached below). So you will have some very smart people in Iran, but these people are an extreme minority generated by the bell curve of genetics being thrown 90 million times!, so as a whole on average most of the 90 million Iranians are borderline intellectually disabled. Now Stef back to your claim. Your claim is OUTRAGEOUS! You claim the IQ of Iran is 104-106, which is complete nonsense. I mean Stef think about what you’re saying Stef. Your saying the IQ of Iran a dysfunctional country majority populated with brainwashed borderline mentally dysfunctional people is the same as a highly industrious, innovative and merit based futuristic tech megalopolis like Japan. I mean spend one day in Japan and spend one day in Iran and I imagine the experience would be like worlds apart, yet you Stef claim that the IQ of Iran is the same as Japan??? WHATTT???? This is the same reason why it's difficult to compare the intelligence of wolves and dogs by seeing how well they do when presented with a problem - wolves will attempt to solve the problem to the best of their ability, dogs will attempt to figure out what the nearest person wants the dog to do Especially in matters involving sex (and almost everything with women in our society involves sex) women are adapted to an environment where the outcome of their actions isn't about what would logically happen but about what people would decide for her when she acted that way

I can tell almost instantly when I meet a young man or woman, whether he or she is a deep thinker. They may not be at the top of their class, but that doesn’t necessarily make them less intelligent than the kid who scored 1500 on his SAT or the guy with an IQ of 134. They may be more intelligent. Much more intelligent, but the methods we have for quantifying that intelligence do not adequately capture the breadth and depth of brilliant minds that exist in the world. So they go unrecognized while the kids who excel on answer-based examinations get the best grades, attend the best schools, earn the best degrees, and, more often than not, go on to have mediocre lives. Why? There is one thing that the most brilliant and accomplished people I have ever met all share in common, and it isn’t pedigree or IQ. It’s curiosity. And not just any curiosity—it’s the inexhaustible kind. It’s the kind that will never be satisfied. In my experience, this is the sort of curiosity that breeds humility and most often coincides with a questions-based mindset. And it’s this type of mindset, not the answers-based mindset our educational system selects for, that is the actual prerequisite for brilliance. I’ve seen this kind of brilliance in physical therapists, plumbers, and pretty much any profession you can imagine that we don’t typically associate with brilliance. But we do associate it with excellence. And that’s because to become excellent at something, you have to become your own teacher. This means going from learning how to give the right answers to learning how to ask the right questions. And that requires curiosity and an almost psychotic commitment to excellence. So, while the person in this video is correct that less intelligent people than he are far more successful than he has been, the more interesting and less remarked upon insight is that people like him are not as brilliant as the system tells us they are.

A fact polite society often chooses to remain silent about is that IQ, a human's inherent hardware problem-solving ability, is not readily subject to improvement--it's almost entirely genetic. And when we take a scarce resource like jobs, and preferentially place into those jobs people with a lower IQ and therefore lesser problem-solving proficiency, they don't get smarter--we're simply excluding from those jobs the people with a higher IQ and greater problem-solving proficiency. When this occurs in isolated cases of nepotism, it's unfortunate. When it occurs as a systematic policy across an entire first-world society, it harkens the end of that first-world society, which generally hangs by mere a thin thread at the best of times.
