I think that Jordan became less and less comfortable with LeBron’s place in the basketball ecosystem as LeBron started getting closer and closer and closer to becoming the people’s choice for greatest player ever. I always felt one of the reasons Jordan embraced Kobe was not only did Kobe model his entire game and at times his persona after Jordan, it was very clear relatively early that Kobe was never going to, like Kobe’s ceiling in the eyes of the majority was going to be second to Jordan. He shared that he was going to seek a relationship with Jesus Christ and how blessed he felt because he’d come from very little but Charlie Kirk’s words had a profound effect on him and he wanted to be a better man…… I think that’s happened. In a recent interview with Jim Daly, Ben Sasse answered several challenging questions about how to respond to suffering with both Christian faith and hope: "I don't want to be aggressive with the intellectualist rationalist side, but God tells us in Scripture everything we need to know for faith and life, but He doesn't tell us everything we want to know or everything that we ultimately will know. And He is God. And to whom else would we go? So, I trust Him because He is who He is, and He has been faithful. And so, I won't get every answer this side of eternity... Death is an enemy. Death is wicked. But it's the final enemy. It's our last battle. And after that, there will be no more tears. And so, we will have these answers, and we will know that God used it for His good." He was released from prison only to be devastated by the news that his entire family had been killed. There was no one waiting to receive him, no one left to embrace him. All of his family were killed. His only “fault” was that he worked as an intensive care medical provider in northern Gaza. He was imprisoned, and his family was killed in what feels like retaliation for his humanity. He is not alone—many of his colleagues have suffered similar fates, targeted, imprisoned, and having their families taken from them.What kind of pain is this? 💔 My friend and colleague in the intensive care unit at the Indonesian Hospital for several years, Dr. Ahmad, was released from prison only to find that the occupation had killed his family. 💔 What kind of injustice is this? My friend Ahmad writes: “ My beautiful family, I miss your presence… I miss holding all of you, I miss your embrace and being with you. My beloved wife Asmaa, my daughter Ghina—the soul of my heart. I left prison longing for you, my heart burning with love and anticipation to see you again. I never imagined I would be denied that reunion. I was shocked and devastated by the news. Since that day, I have been lost, numb… I have nothing left but to move between your photos. Life has no meaning without you. Courtney Copeland appeared visibly emotional as her grandfather, Kenneth Copeland, discussed his ongoing health struggles after spending nearly 60 years teaching divine healing. Kenneth Copeland recently sat down with his granddaughter, Courtney Copeland, for a podcast discussing the Word of Faith movement and the doctrine of divine healing. Throughout his ministry, Kenneth has consistently taught that it is always God's will to heal and that believers can receive healing through faith. Yet in recent years, he has faced several health challenges of his own. During the podcast, Kenneth revealed that he is dealing with a painful back condition caused by a pinched nerve. As the conversation unfolded, Courtney appeared deeply moved, seemingly struggling to reconcile her grandfather's theology with the reality of his physical suffering. In my opinion, this is where this theology can become damaging for people. Kenneth explained that although he is experiencing sickness and pain, he believes he is already completely healed—it is simply taking time for that healing to manifest. In the meantime, he is receiving treatment from medical professionals. I believe God still heals today. I have personally experienced healing, and I have prayed for others to be healed. Every time I pray for someone, I do so with faith, believing that God is able to heal in Jesus' name. However, not everyone is healed on this side of heaven. We must be willing to wrestle honestly with those difficult questions when healing does not come. Some aspects of suffering and healing remain a divine mystery, and we simply do not have all the answers.
