Just before 12:30 Monday afternoon, the FDNY responded to a 4-alarm fire at 44-49 College Point Boulevard in Queens. Tragically, four people lost their lives in this fire. Two other victims were transported to area hospitals in critical condition. During operations, a stairwell collapsed, trapping two of our members. They were transported to area hospitals in stable condition. More than 230 firefighters and EMS personnel responded. “This is a difficult and tragic day. There were several victims in this fire. The Fire Department did an extraordinary job under difficult circumstances, putting this fire out and saving people. I can't thank them enough for their continued efforts and commitment to life safety,” said Fire Commissioner Lillian Bonsignore. “Upon arrival, we had heavy fire on all three floors of this building. There was a victim trapped on the second floor, which our members removed with a portable ladder. As our engine companies were moving in from the first floor and up the stairs to the second floor, the stairs collapsed, and those two members were trapped in the stairs. With additional help, we were able to extricate those members. As all that is happening, other members are performing CPR on the victims in the street,” said Chief of Fire Operations Kevin Woods. The fire was placed under control just before 2:45 p.m. FDNY Fire Marshals are working to determine the cause of the fire.

This video was sent to me by a viewer whose husband was evacuating their cabin near Eureka as the Cherry Fire exploded Friday afternoon. The flames can be seen burning on both sides of the road as he drove to safety. It’s a sobering look at just how fast this fire spread during the extreme winds and dangerous fire weather. The Cherry Fire is one of several large wildfires that rapidly grew across central Utah today, forcing evacuations, closing roads, and sending thick smoke across much of the state. If you’re in or near an evacuation area, don’t wait. Leave when you’re told. Conditions can change in minutes. Thank you to the family for allowing me to share this incredible video. It’s incredibly heartbreaking watching the fire destroying an entire neighborhood that I know extremely well, #PacificPalisades. The flames spread to roadside vegetation before moving into the forest. That is a fact. What isn't true is the claim that this means climate change had nothing to do with it. Climate change didn't set the van on fire. It helped create the conditions that allowed a single vehicle fire to become a major wildfire. France is suffocating under intense, recurring heatwave conditions. The Landes de Gascogne forest has been turned into a tinderbox, where a single ignition source was all it took for disaster to unfold. The warehouse was damaged but later resumed operations in a limited capacity. 📌 On July 22, a fire broke out at a Wildberries warehouse in Krasnodar — one employee was killed and nine people were injured. In Nevinnomyssk, five workers were injured, and a state of emergency was declared in the city due to the fire. 📌 The attacks also affected facilities in Voronezh, occupied Simferopol, Shushary near St. Petersburg, and Novosaratovka in the Leningrad region.

We are about 3 miles away from the Palisades fire. Past few days I have noticed a lot of arson/rubbish fires (to say nothing of the deluge of looting reports), but this report is truly terrifying - **FIFTEEN TO TWENTY ARSON SUSPECTS W/ GAS CANS** The area of that report is not even under an evac warning, let alone a mandatory evac. It’s ahead of the fire, basically right around UCLA. Not one or two suspects with gas cans, but *FIFTEEN TO TWENTY* This is something else. No one in the mainstream discourse is saying the word “terrorism”, but I’ve lived in SoCal for 30+ years and the past week is unlike anything I’ve ever seen The scale of the looting, number and scale of arson reports, the utter incompetence, the number of disparate fires cropping up (and the location and timing of them), national guard- all of it.

1/5 How #ITLF engineered the #ManipurViolence by burning the Centenary gate at Leishang . This is the first available photo taken at 1421 hours or 2.21 pm on 3rd May, where it is seen that a crowd has gathered at the #CentenaryGate with ‘smoke’ at the foot of the concrete structure. A video uploaded showed that a docile looking small fire with 2/3 rubber tyres is seen. ‼️This is the ‘Fire’ which the #Kukis have justified and given the reason that led to an orgy of vandalism, Assault and arson of hundreds of homes and murder in the next 3 hours of that afternoon ‼️ ‼️But at around 12.30 pm, for whatever reasons, there was a large #Kuki crowd gathered, which disappeared for a while and appear when the ‘Fire’ at the concrete structure of the gate started. ‼️ ‼️Who gave directive for the gathered crowd /guards to disappear and then reappear ? ‼️ ‼️ There is no way, anyone could have burnt the Centenary gate without the crowd intervening especially for a Meitei. It is impossible for a Meitei to even touch the gate, leave alone set it on fire by placing 2/3 tyres ‼️ But this is what happened soon afterwards. The following places were vandalised , burnt and civilians killed by #ITLF, #KukiMilitants and their supporter in the next 3 hours of this tragic day : 2.20 pm to 5.30 pm Torbung Phougakchou Moreh Bijang Khunou Meitei leikai Phailian Leimaram Compound Veng khanami Bazaar Khuga Tampak Khumujamba Yaifakon Lingsiphai Kangpokpi Forest beat office at Mualnam and Singhat
