Very sad. My sympathies are with all of his family. I didn't know him, but the circumstances of his death seem so randomly tragic that everyone should feel the pain of his relatives.

Every so often when someone you have never even met looses their life, it affects you as if it was a family member. It's clear that Michael is such a person. It is so very upsetting to hear he has gone, so many genuinely upset people are terribly sad. RIP dear kind gentle man.

So genuinely upset and still in shock about the sudden passing of Michael Moseley. He was an inspirational man. What a loss for us all but essentially to his family and friends 💔

"It was an abortion, Michael." That line destroys him, because it goes for the one illusion Michael still needs to live with himself. That everything he's done was for the family. Michael can justify murder. Betrayal, lies, exile, coldness. As long as he believes he's protecting his family, he still gets to see himself as something other than a monster. Kay takes that away in one sentence. And listen to how she says it. Not I ended the pregnancy. It was a son, Michael. A son. And I had it killed. She's speaking his language back at him. She did to his son exactly what he does to men who threaten the family. She even extends the word to the marriage. An abortion. Something unholy and evil. That's why his face changes before he moves. Pacino is terrifying here because you watch Michael process it on every level at once. Husband, father, Catholic, Don. Kay hasn't disobeyed him. She's made a decision about his bloodline without asking. In Michael's world that's unforgivable. But Kay isn't weak in this moment. She's terrified and she doesn't back down. For years Michael controlled the truth, the house, the children, the entire story of their marriage. Here she takes the one thing he can never retroactively command. Her own refusal. That's why the slap is so ugly. It isn't rage. It's Michael realizing there's a part of Kay he can't own. The real tragedy is that both of them are telling the truth, in the cruelest way possible. Michael believes he sacrificed his soul to protect the family. Kay believes the family is now the thing their children need protecting from. After this there's no marriage left to save. Just custody, power, and the wreckage of whatever Michael once promised her he'd never become.
