Since when Apostle Gitwaza is a Rwandan? He is a Munyamulenge and a Congolese. In the video he is saying how he is a Rwandan son! These people who came from Congo and Uganda and murdered Rwandans to take over their properties, faked to be Rwandan, if the Kagame's regime falls, are they ready to pack and return where they originated from? These guys betrayed their place of origin and home country, will they return to Congo or Uganda after faking for so long to be Rwandan? When Kagame's regime falls, many will flee the country. They have cases to answer that involved killing to grab the land. I don't know much about crimes committed by Gitwaza specifically but he is not Rwandan. When was he naturalized? Many of Banyamulenge and Tutsi from North Kivu and Uganda committed massacres against Rwandans in 1994 and after, they have been masquerading as Rwandans for three decades! If we fight one another we have no place to go. Vogel or Jason Stearns say, that it is "a shadow of itself", or "a pretext [of Rwanda to 'invade Congo']". #FDLR is indeed no longer merely about their "physical presence" & their "guns", it's about their ideology which has permeated the political class & the Congolese society so deeply that women & children can gather around, watch & cheer, while a human being is burned alive & eaten, as if it was a daily life performance. The same people who claim to be “anti genocide” are siding with those who openly admit genocidal intent. Many on the left do not actually care about genocide. They just want a cause to rally around so they can protest and feel good about themselves. They have become useful idiots for Islamist extremists, helping spread and legitimize terrorism as a political tool. This is not the kind of ideology we want taking root in America.

The Burundian government has been sheltering and supporting the #FDLR/#interahamwe (the genocidal force responsible for the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda), enabling #FDLR to carry out the ongoing ethnic cleansing of Congolese Tutsi (Banyamulenge) in the South Kivu. This collaboration between #FDLR and #Burundi is not only emphasized in today's press conference by #M23's president Bertrand Bisimwa, but has been the result of my own field work in the Masisi, illustrated by the total destruction of the #Nturo village, in October 2023, where 300 homes belonging to Congolese Tutsi were burned to the ground under the supervision of the Burundian army. Bertrand Bisimwa calls here for Burundian troops to withdraw and to cease participating in an entreprise of ethnic cleansing and spread of anti-Tutsi genocide ideology. Congo, Burundi and Rwanda, borderlands that have collectively inherited the painful legacy of colonial violence at the hands of Belgium, can only achieve lasting peace through unity and reconciliation, and by fighting in solidarity against genocide ideology.

Meiselas: We need to really reevaluate and reflect on what the hell is happening with Israel. We have to all acknowledge the genocide taking place in Palestine right now. We have to all work to make sure that it is American policy to stop this genocide. And it should be disqualifying for anybody who doesn't call it a genocide and who doesn't work to end the genocide and who doesn't work for a Palestinian state.
