Huey Crashes During Flight Test On December 2, 1977, a U.S. Army UH-1H Huey crashed while attempting an autorotation landing during flight testing of the experimental MULTEWS (Multiple Target Electronic Warfare System) at Edwards Air Force Base. The externally mounted MULTEWS significantly degraded the helicopter's performance and handling, leading to the termination of the flight test program. Both pilots suffered broken backs but recovered and returned to flying just a few months later.

Five for flying! #TeamBoeing completed a first for our test fleet: five 777-9 jets airborne in 24 hours. During the two-day campaign, the team conducted systems, propulsion and interior tests and reached a first-flight milestone. They completed six flights, nearly 18 hours of flight testing and additional ground tests.

What would happen if the Moon took the place of the ISS? 🌕 If our satellite were positioned at the altitude of the ISS orbit (about 400 km), life on Earth would change forever. The Moon would fill almost the entire sky, eclipsing the Sun during every orbit—a journey that would take just 90 minutes. Another one in the books - the New Glenn team just finished NG-2's aft module activation test. This test activates the hydrogen peroxide system that powers the aft module hydraulics and conducts a shortened mission simulation of the integrated system. The four auxiliary power units, or APUs, produce a combined peak of 1,000 horsepower to drive the hydraulic pumps, roughly equivalent to the power of a modern F1 car. Next, we will mate the aft module to the rest of GS1 and install our seven BE-4 engines.

NEWS: For the first time, SpaceX's Dragon capsule just successfully performed a reboot demo using its Draco thrusters to alter the International Space Station's altitude. NASA gave SpaceX the contract to deorbit the ISS & send it into the ocean at the end of its lifetime in 2031. The Dragon capsule fired its Draco thrusters for ~12.5 minutes today to adjust the station’s orbit. Here is a video of the test today:

Just as Q said countermeasures are in place, for example think Emergency Alert System. The reason they regularly test is cause EAS or EBS could go off anywhere anytime locally. If you think pre season is a joke then you have no idea how difficult it is for players to stay in shape and most of this training are connected to how the team wants to play during the season. This is what the first few days in the pre season looks like and medicals like blood test, flexibility check, mobility test, VO2Max test, and the heart test to see if the heart is healthy. My personal view on pre season test is that I hated the VO2Max test and if you are not fit enough the pass the test which usually last for just 15 minutes. When I was at Vitesse Arnhem and Red star Belgrade my medicals took 3days to be completed and it was the longest I ever had. If you don't take your off season trainings seriously you will be exposed on the first day of pre season test and you will be in trouble with the coach.
