Kevin Costner said he left Yellowstone over scheduling conflicts after staying for five seasons instead of the three he originally agreed to. Kevin Costner: I'm not in it. I was in it for five years. I guess I could be in it again if, um, if the planets wanted to line up, which means the storyline, the script. And then, I want to work more than once a year. Um, and to do that, the times have to be set aside for things. And when that couldn't happen, then that can't work for me anymore. Howard Stern: Well, that's a ballsy move. Robert Duvall is so damn good in Open Range- he is so damn good. I’ve never met anyone who dislikes this film. Duvall & Kevin Costner absolutely bring the thunder in this film in a throwback Western that is so rewatchable. This might be what I rewatch tonight in Duvall’s honor.

Open Range is so much better than I remembered. I wrote about this earlier this week after just learning about Robert Duvall’s passing, but I just gave this a rewatch today & Duvall & Kevin Costner are perfect casting together. The filmmaking here is exceptional. Duvall thrives.

Still sad over the passing of Robert Duvall. Although Lonesome Dove is my favorite, if you have not seen Open Range with Robert Duvall (Boss Spearman), Kevin Costner and Annette Bening, you are missing out. Excellent movie with possibly one of the longest and best shootout scenes in movie history.
