Brendel has the lowest combined blown block rate among the 49ers OL starters for the last 2 seasons, lowest pressure rate after TW71 the last 2 seasons. Lowest pressure rate responsibility in 2024, 2nd lowest in 2023 on the team. The fan perception simply does not match reality.

Clearly we aren’t expecting the coach to bury one of his players. But obviously all of this is nonsense, he was an utter liability with a chronic injury that kept him out of training camp last season. There must be plans to replace him

All I can say on this one is actions speak louder than words. And hopefully the team’s actions say something different. It’s really not a knock on Brendel. For much of his tenure as a starter, he was a good value. But the time has come to get better at that position.
