Norway turned North Sea oil into a sovereign wealth fund. Britain spent the money, shut the fields and now buys Norwegian oil and gas at a higher price. Nationalisation is not a magic wand. Britain needs low taxes, low regulation and businesses free to invest, compete and make money.
