I have never called a contractor to do work on my home who isn’t Black. Why? Because if we aren’t intentional about investing in Black businesses they don’t succeed and can’t scale. We change that when we invest our money through supporting the business. Each year I keep a track of how much I’ve spent with Black businesses and people. We should all look at how much we #BuyBlack so we can grow our own individual impact in our community. Black businesses supply Black jobs which help make our communities stable, resourced, and safe.
