We've launched Fitness Training for senior citizens in Bengaluru South with the inaugural session at Brindavan Park, Padmanabhanagar, last Sunday. The sessions are aimed at introducing structured strength training, physiotherapy and nutrition sessions for senior citizens. As people age, walking alone isn't sufficient. Muscle mass naturally declines, making everyday movements harder and increasing the risk of falls. These sessions also help build muscle strength, key to staying active and independent. The programme will soon be expanded to other parks across Bengaluru South, encouraging more citizens to embrace fitness as a way of life and age with strength and confidence. When working with youth athletes, keep it simple. Choose exercises that are easy to teach but deliver a big return on athletic development. Explosive throws—like squat throws, scoop tosses, slams, and clean & jerks—are excellent for building power and serve as a natural bridge into more complex training later on. Mix in some reactive work such as hops and multi-jumps, and give plenty of rest between sets. Put it all together, and you’ve got a strong recipe for developing speed and power in young athletes. #LTAD

Learning how to build these types of systems will be a valuable skill. In this video I walk through how to get started with event-driven agentic systems with Devin, starting with transforming Slack into an agent-native control plane. You can extend this to GitHub events, schedules, and arbitrary webhooks while maintaining traceability, auditability, and session attribution with Devin.

The 10-15 seconds in between pitches are the most important time of a baseball game. All ballplayers should be looking to win this time. The best way to do that is having a set pre-pitch routine that they execute every pitch. A pre-pitch routine is simply what players do on a consistent basis in-between pitches. Most importantly, it’s how they breathe, focus, visualize, and talk to themselves. This is what helps them take control, keep it simple, and compete with all they’ve got ONE pitch at a time.

This is my 10 year son. Its football season so I'm going to call him a quarterback. In November he'll be a point guard And in March he'll be a catcher. There is no place for early specialization at his age. When the season is over we move on. He loves sports and coming to the gym. Im past 6 months He's expressed to me the desire to do some training. My goals for him in the gym are to: 1. Have fun so he keeps coming back 2. Expand movement skill set 3. Develop structural resiliency and robustness 4. Establish Bodyweight control with eye towards the future. 5. Improve Reactive ability 6. Have fun His sessions are: Minimally coached Semi-structured Highly engaging This is what we came up with... #LTAD

Muscle strength is arguably one of the most important predictors of healthspan and longevity—far more than muscle mass alone. Low muscle strength is associated with a 50% higher risk of early death. The good news is that strength can be regained at any age through resistance training, even in your 90s. One study showed that 90-year-old participants increased their strength by 174%, walking speed by 48%, and thigh muscle mass by 9% after just 8 weeks of high-intensity resistance training (PMID: 2342214). This highlights that age-related strength loss is primarily a reversible decline in muscle quality—not just lost muscle mass. But there’s another key piece: protein. For older adults, consuming about 1.6g/kg of body weight in protein daily has been shown to maximize gains in both muscle strength and mass. Combining resistance training with adequate protein intake is a game-changer for improving biological resilience, mobility, and overall quality of life as we age. Caveat it’s early in the season for rowing, but not bad to be number 1 in the world for all age groups, given I’m almost 60! This was a rate restricted row at 30 SPM so I’m probably 5 seconds faster than this with a free rate row. Pleased with power cleans today as I felt I made progress with the 3rd pull and getting myself under the bar a little bit more aggressively!
