Multiple Indian companies are saying it's really easy to get work in New Zealand Now that I've started looking for these promotional videos by Indian companies, I've found way too many, which is really concerning. Why has National, Labour, and ACT "sold us out" by signing the India-NZ FTA that will make it even easier? It's already way too easy. With the example below, you'll see that nearly anyone can get in. Here's a quick example: "If your age is between 18 and 55 then you can work here" "The cost of this visa is between 18,000 to 20,000 which is $325 New Zealand Dollars" "You can earn from 2 to 3.5 lakh rupees per month [$6,571 NZD p/m]" This will be the last example I post. It was posted yesterday and specifically targets low-skilled jobs that were typically taken by our Pacific neighbors, students, those who can't find full-time employment, etc. Here's the translation to about two thirds of the way through - the rest was repetitive so I didn't include it: TRANSLATION: "So guys New Zealand's seasonal visa has started. If you want to work on New Zealand's seasonal visa for a year, in this video i will guide you step by step how you can get New Zealand's seasonal visa. What are the requirements of the documents? How much is the cost of the visa? What is the process time and what is the age limit? You will get all the details in this video so keep watching the video till the end. So basically, you can do apple picking on seasonal visa in which you can earn from 2 to 3.5 lakh rupees per month [$6,571 NZD p/m] and you can also do your fruit picking job as a Cherry Picker, Grab Picker, Pack House Worker, Orchard Worker, Pruning Worker, Farm Worker, Meat Processing, etc. If your age is between 18 and 55 then you can work here. You can work as warehouse worker, housekeeper, cleaner and farm worker. You can apply even if your education is in 8th or 10th or 12th grade [NZ NCEA Level 1 - NCEA Level 3]. Both male and female candidates can apply for this visa. To apply for New Zealand seasonal visa, first you have to do a job application. Job application is shown on the screen. You can go inside and do job application. If you don't know how to do job application, you can contact me. I will give you all the numbers. We will apply for you and also make a professional CV and cover letter of New Zealand format. This is the first step: - First you have to do job application - After that CV is selected - After that company gives you sponsorship letter - After that you can apply for this visa The cost of this visa is between 18,000 to 20,000 which is $325 New Zealand Dollars and after processing time you can get one or two weeks visa. And friends Indian, Pakistan, Nepali and Bangladesh also can apply for this visa So i am showing you how you can apply for this visa so guys if you want to work on New Zealand's seasonal visa many people are confused about which country they can go to and which country they can't go to I am going to clear that too. This visa is a fixed length of stay, you can stay here for maximum 11 months and in some cases if your employer sponsor you for 1 year, then you can stay here for 1 year.... The processing time of required seasonal visa is 80% in 4 days and sometime in 1 or 2 weeks. Tis is the total process time if your age is between 18 years and 55 years. If you are physically fit and can lift maximum weight from 25 to 30 kgs, you can apply for this visa but you should have an offer letter from New Zealand. Through this letter you can apply for this visa and you will get the visa for only 20,000 rupees. You cannot bring your family with you for this visa you can only apply as an individual and you can work here. So one important thing here is that you can't change your employer or company. You have to work where you get a sponsorship...." Translated using Whisper AI Original Source: Copyright Authority: Fair Dealing

Should President Trump terminate the H-1B visa program? As an immigration attorney who advocates for an America-First approach—yes, I know how rare that is—I think Trump should do it for three reasons: 1. Displacement of American Workers The H1B program allows companies to lay off American workers and replace them with foreign workers who are often paid less, prioritizing cost savings over U.S. job security. This undermines the claim that H-1B visas are used only when qualified American workers are unavailable. For example, Microsoft—which is making record profits these days—recently laid off over 15,000 American workers, including software engineers and IT staff, while simultaneously filing over 14,000 H1B visa petitions. Reports indicate that many of these visas were for roles in the same locations and job categories as the laid-off workers, suggesting direct replacement. 2. Wage Suppression and Exploitation The H1B visa program enables companies to hire foreign workers at lower wages, suppressing salaries for American workers and exploiting H-1B workers who are tied to their employer-sponsored visas. This creates a race-to-the-bottom effect on wages in tech and other industries. H-1B workers also face exploitation because they risk deportation if terminated, with only a 60-day grace period to find a new sponsor. 3. Abuse by Outsourcing Firms Outsourcing firms, particularly Indian IT companies, exploit the H1B program by securing a disproportionate share of visas to supply low-cost labor, often for non-specialized roles. These firms engage in practices like filing visas for nonexistent jobs or “benching” workers, undermining the program’s purpose of addressing genuine skill shortages. I'm Joseph Bovino, U.S. immigration and business attorney based in Miami and serving clients worldwide. Let me know if you agree that it's time to terminate, phase out, or replace the H1B visa program. Use the link in my bio if you'd like to schedule a video consultation with about another type of visa that actually benefits you AND America, such as an E2 investor visa or the O1 visa for individuals with extraordinary ability. This is the biggest irony in tech history. Microsoft beat revenue estimates. Stock plunged 11%, wiped out $400 BILLION in market cap. Salesforce reported growth. Stock fell 5.6%. ServiceNow beat earnings. Stock crashed 11%. SAP beat projections. Stock dropped 16%. Entire software sector entered bear market territory. Down 22% from peak. These are the companies everyone said would WIN from AI. They spent billions BUYING AI companies. ServiceNow: $7.75 billion for Armis. Salesforce: $8 billion for Informatica. They launched AI products. Built AI workflows. Hired AI teams. And the market said: You're all dead. Because investors just realized something nobody wanted to admit: AI doesn't make software companies stronger. AI makes software companies OBSOLETE. Morgan Stanley: "In an environment of heightened investor skepticism, stable growth falls short of shifting the narrative." Good earnings aren't enough anymore. The market is pricing in a world where AI replaces the software these companies sell. ServiceNow CEO tried defending on the earnings call: "AI needs workflow orchestration. ServiceNow is the gateway to this shift." Market response: 11% crash. Because here's what he didn't say: If AI can write code, automate workflows, and generate apps at a fraction of the cost, why would anyone pay $50,000 per year for enterprise software licenses? The per-seat pricing model that made SaaS companies rich is getting murdered by AI efficiency. One AI agent replaces 10 seats. One prompt replaces months of custom development. One LLM call replaces entire software categories. Klarna already proved it. CEO said they pulled Salesforce out of their stack. Built everything themselves using AI. And that's just the beginning. The software apocalypse hit hardest on companies that INVESTED IN AI: Atlassian: down 12.6% Intuit: down 7.8% HubSpot: down 11.5% Zscaler: down 6.3% Meanwhile, the companies ENABLING AI made money: Nvidia: up Semiconductor stocks: surging Memory firms: rallying The divide is brutal. Hardware companies print cash. Software companies get destroyed. Because in an AI-first world, you need GPUs to build the models. But you don't need software subscriptions when the AI builds the software for you. Jim Cramer called it the "P/E multiple compression crisis." Translation: Investors don't care about earnings anymore. They care about whether your business model survives the next 5 years. And right now software business models look doomed. They're literally stuck: If they DON'T invest in AI, they fall behind. If they DO invest in AI, they cannibalize their own products. It's a death spiral with no exit. ServiceNow spent $12 BILLION on acquisitions in 2025 alone. Trying to buy their way into relevance. And yesterday the market cooked them. The craziest thing to me tho... Most software companies beat earnings. Revenue was solid. Growth was fine. But it didn't matter. Because the market stopped pricing software on what it earns TODAY. It's pricing software on what it's worth in a world where AI does the job for free. And in that world these companies are worth nothing. This is the biggest sector repricing since 2008. $500 billion in market value gone in ONE DAY. And it's not stopping. Because every company watching this is thinking the same thing: "If I can replace ServiceNow with 3 AI agents and save $10 million per year, why wouldn't I?" The answer used to be: "Because you need enterprise-grade reliability." But now? AI agents are getting reliable. Fast. Software companies just realized they're competing with open-source models that cost $0.02 per 1,000 tokens. You can't win a pricing war against free. The companies that spent BILLIONS preparing for AI are getting killed BY AI. What an irony.

What does it actually mean to be AI native? There was no clear guide on the internet for how to become AI native so we built the definitive one (60 min masterclass): 1. An AI native org has 3 layers: people for strategy and taste, agents for execution, and a shared context layer that makes the entire company readable to agents. 2. AI eats the middle of your work. You used to spend 80% of your day on execution. Now agents do that. Your job is the bookends: deciding what to do and judging whether it's good enough. 3. Everyone is a manager now. Your output is the output of your agents. If your agents produce garbage, that's on you. You set them up wrong. 4. Using ChatGPT doesn't make you AI native. That's like having a website and calling yourself a tech company lol. 5. No AI native org without AI native people. Most companies skip straight to the tools. That's why it fails. If your people don't understand how to manage agents, the tech doesn't matter. 6. Making your company "readable" to agents is the real work. Every process, every decision, every piece of knowledge needs to exist in a format an agent can consume. Most companies are nowhere close. 7. Speed without signal is just expensive chaos. You need the system to move fast AND know if you're moving in the right direction. 8. The skill chain is how agents get good at your specific workflows. Skills build on skills. The more you invest in them, the more your company compounds. 9. The moat is the system. People managing agents, agents reading from rich context, the whole thing getting smarter every week. That compounds. Your competitor can copy your tools. They can't copy your system. Full episode with Theo Tabah from LCA on The Startup Ideas Podcast (SIP) 🧃. This is the stuff we normally keep internal but all the sauce is yours. Theo Tabah is the brains behind advising the world's biggest companies on AI and building AI products. Your fav CEO's first call for figuring out AI. You are in for a treat Become AI native in under 60 minutes Watch

Dear meaningful Nigerians, please we need help for one of our sisters who’s in captivity in Cairo Egypt. In her pursuit for a greener pasture, her stepbrother (who’s in the UK) linked her up with a travelling agent so she can travel out. This her stepbrother told her not to inform anyone about the travelling process. She was naive and innocent and she didn’t inform anyone like she was instructed. Now she’s in Cairo Egypt facing the worst moment of her life. She’s working as a maid in Arabian house, she’s being maltreated and being used like an animal, one of the people she was working with kicked her in her lower abdomen that even right now she has balder issue, which made her not to have control over her urine again, as at the time I am making this tweet, if she want to urinate she won’t know, she’ll just find urine poured on her body. The saddest of all of this is that she’s also not getting paid, she will have to work for 18 months (1yr 6 months) for free, all her salaries for this whole 18 months goes to her sponsor. She’s sick, tired and frustrated. Running away isn’t a best option, because she will be arrested by the Egyptian government, because now she’s an illegal immigrant. Her passport and all other travel document is also with this sponsor. Her stepbrother, the same person who sent her into this has blocked her and no longer picks her calls. She told the sponsor she can no longer continue, and the sponsor told her: “There is nothing like that. You either work free for 18 months or I will sell you as a slave.” Right now, she needs ₦4.5 million to buy her freedom from this sponsor. We have thought of every possible solution. We are running out of options. We are scared we may lose her if we don’t act quickly. Please, we are begging. Help us tag anyone who can assist, government officials, human rights organisations, NGOs, embassies, and influential people. Whoever can help. We are also appealing for donations. Your kindness, your prayers, your sharing, and your support can save her life. Donations can be made to: 0491241121 GTBank Abdulsalam Abdullah You can listen as she narrate the horror she’s experiencing in the first frame.

We built and $LAYOFF to keep tabs on every major layoff in 2026. To hold companies that are firing Americans while hiring foreign labor accountable. We truly believe we are seeing the largest shift in labor since the Industrial Revolution, and we want to be your trusted source to track the entire journey. The good. The bad. The data. The numbers right now: 415,000+ people have lost their jobs in 2026 147+ companies 3,100+ jobs cut per day Every sector. Tech, finance, healthcare, retail, auto, media, telecom, manufacturing. Nobody is safe. We didn't set out to build a movement. But it turns out when you document what's actually happening to working people in this country, people pay attention. 41,000 of you followed in 10 weeks. 35 million+ impressions. Because this isn't a niche story. This is your coworker. Your neighbor. Your friend who just posted on LinkedIn about "new beginnings" after 12 years at the same company. CEOs are announcing thousands of cuts on earnings calls and the stock goes up the same day. They call it restructuring. They call it efficiency. Then they file for thousands of H-1B visas and ship the work overseas. We don't just track layoffs. We investigate them. We built an H-1B research tool with nearly 7 million DOL filings so you can see exactly which companies are cutting Americans and replacing them with cheaper foreign labor. We cross-reference the layoff data with visa applications, expose offshoring patterns, and publish the receipts. Our visa fraud investigation series has documented how the system is being exploited at scale. We name the companies. We show the filings. We let the data speak. We track it all at Every company page has editorial context, source links, workforce percentages, and attribution tags. We categorize why the cuts happened: AI-driven, restructuring, cost cuts, mergers, weak demand. Updated live, in real time, completely free. $LAYOFF is the token behind the movement. It exists because this story isn't going away. Every week brings another round of cuts, another CEO proving that Wall Street rewards replacing people. The narrative is the economy itself. This is not a crypto movement. This is a people movement that happens to have a token.

We built and $LAYOFF to keep tabs on every major layoff in 2026. To hold companies accountable when they fire American workers and file for cheaper foreign labor in the same quarter. This is the largest shift in labor since the Industrial Revolution. We keep tabs on it all. The good. The bad. The ugly. The data. The numbers right now: 580,000+ people have lost their jobs from major companies in 2026 215+ companies 230 separate layoff rounds 3,100+ jobs cut per day Tech, finance, healthcare, retail, auto, media, telecom, manufacturing. Nobody is safe. The last time we pinned a tweet, 41,000 of you were following. Today it is 50,000+, with 55 million+ impressions. And this stopped being a niche story. Ron DeSantis used our data to call H-1B "a total scam" and "indentured servitude." He pushed Florida's public universities to pause H-1B hiring for a year. Newsweek cited our visa research last week and called us "a workforce analytics firm." An anonymous account with a spreadsheet became a research operation that newsrooms cite. The receipts keep stacking. Our H-1B tool holds 6.8 million+ DOL filings across 238,000+ employers, free to search. Look up any company and see exactly who files for visas while cutting American staff. We cross-reference the layoff data against the filings and publish investigations with companies named. Journalists and researchers download our datasets free. Last month, we partnered with Wekruit to help connect those laid off with high paying start ups and get them back in the work force. You can browse our open roles at Real openings from companies that are actually hiring. You interview directly with hiring managers. No resume black hole. No ghost listings. The same site that shows you who is cutting now shows you who is hiring. We spent all year tracking the layoffs. Now we can get you hired. $LAYOFF is the stake behind the work. Every week brings another round of cuts. The story is not going away, and neither are we. A people movement that happens to have a token. We will be here for you every step of the way.

Microsoft just banned its own engineers from using AI. The tool was literally costing MORE than the humans it was supposed to replace. They lied to you about AI adoption and now the whole narrative is blowing up: Microsoft gave thousands of engineers access to Claude Code six months ago and encouraged them to use it. Engineers loved it and adoption exploded. But then the invoices arrived. Token-based pricing means every query, every code review, every debugging session costs money. At scale across 100,000 engineers, the numbers became so large that Microsoft issued an internal order to cancel nearly all Claude Code licenses by end of June and force everyone onto their own cheaper tool instead. The company that invested $5 billion in Anthropic just told its own people to stop using Anthropic's product because it costs too much. Uber's story is even worse... Their CTO Praveen Neppalli Naga told The Information that the budget he planned for the full year was "blown away already" by April. Uber had rolled out Claude Code in December 2025. By March, 84% of their 5,000 engineers were using it with 70% of all committed code coming from AI systems. Heavy users were burning $500 to $2,000 per month each. Naga himself spent $1,200 in a single two-hour demo session. The company had even built internal leaderboards ranking engineers by how much AI they used. They literally gamified the spending and then ran out of money. Now look at what Nvidia's own VP of applied deep learning Bryan Catanzaro said to Axios last month. Direct quote: "For my team, the cost of compute is far beyond the costs of the employees." This is a VP at the company that SELLS the chips saying that using AI is more expensive than paying humans. Think about what this means for the entire AI narrative. Every CEO on every earnings call for the past two years has said the same thing: AI will make us more efficient, reduce headcount, and cut costs. The stock market rewarded every company that said it. Fired workers, stock goes up. Announced AI adoption, stock goes up. But the actual companies deploying AI at scale are discovering the math doesn't work. The MORE employees use AI, the HIGHER the bill. Goldman Sachs forecasts a 24x increase in token consumption by 2030 as companies adopt AI agents. Gartner just published a report showing that even though individual token prices will drop 90% by 2030, total enterprise AI costs will go UP because agents consume exponentially more tokens per task than basic tools. Meta built an internal dashboard called "Claudeonomics" to track which employees use the most AI. Amazon started pushing engineers to "tokenmaxx," their internal term for consuming as many AI tokens as possible. Both companies are spending hundreds of billions on AI infrastructure this year alone. And Microsoft, the company that bet its entire future on AI, just told 100,000 engineers to stop using the tool they liked best because the per-token bills got out of control. The companies building AI are telling investors it saves money. The companies using AI are finding out it costs more than the humans it was supposed to replace. And even the company that makes the chips just admitted it through its own VP. This is the gap nobody on Wall Street is pricing in. $725 billion in AI infrastructure spending this year across Big Tech. And the first companies to actually deploy these tools at scale are already pulling back because the economics don't work. What do you think?

#WATCH | On US President Trump signing an Executive Order to raise the fee that companies pay to sponsor H-1B applicants to $100,000, former diplomat Anil Trigunayat says, "I think it is in keeping with his various statements that he has been making ever since, especially to please his MAGA constituency...This is a regressive step in my view, because India is the only country today which would provide talent to the world until 2050. If you want to cut off your nose to spite your face, so be it." "I think it is in keeping with his various statements that he has been making ever since, especially to please his MAGA constituency. He has also been creating more difficulties with regard to his prescription on the H-1B visa, not from now but from quite some time now. Even the ordinary visas also have become not that easy. What he is trying to do basically, he is trying to extract as much money as he can from the industry even if it is at the expense of The US eventually. And also to make it difficult by giving them Gold Card at 'Gold Card' visa at $2 million to corporate and then asking them to pay 100,000 dollars for each H-1B visa that they want. India is the largest user of that visa, so it will directly impact us. It might even enable various companies to eventually, instead of getting people to The US, work online which has also been going on significantly. This is a regressive step in my view, because India is the only country today which would provide talent to the world until 2050. If you want to cut off your nose to spite your face, so be it."

THE ECONOMICS OF A FIREWOOD BUSINESS Do you know what the net profit margin is on a firewood business? 85% And I know that because I've talked to dozens of people running these businesses and the numbers are wild This is exactly how it works: 1) You can get firewood for free or extremely cheap. People are literally paying tree companies like mine to get rid of trees. You show up with a truck, you haul it away and they're thanking you for it. 2) Then you split it, you stack it and you season it for a few months and sell it for $300 to $600 per cord. Startup costs are almost nothing, a chainsaw, an axe or a log splitter and a truck and you can rent a log splitter for $70 a day. You could be in this business for under $800. Some people start with even less by borrowing equipment and this is perfect because the demand is consistent. People need fire wood every single winter. It's not a fad, it's not going away and it's local and in the summertime you sell to the barbecue enthusiast. You're not competing with Amazon or big corporations, you 're competing with maybe three other guys in the area that don't even know what a website is. The work is physical but it's simple, you're going to the gym anyway. Cut, split, stack, deliver. No complicated systems, no tech skills required. You run this entire business from your phone with a Facebook marketplace and a Craigslist ad and winter's coming. The kicker is that you build up a customer base and then they come back every single year. So it's recurring revenue without a subscription model. People find a firewood guy that they trust and they stick with them forever. You could realistically do $50,000 to $150,000 a year seasonally working part-time. I'm stumped why more people aren't doing this.

Jensen Huang just called out every CEO who’s been firing people “because of AI.” Jim Cramer asked him why companies are laying people off if AI is supposed to make everyone MORE productive. Jensen's answer: "For companies with imagination, you will do more with more. For companies where the leadership is just out of ideas, they have nothing else to do. They have no reason to imagine greater than they are. When they have more capability, they don't do more." Read that again. The man who built the most important tech company on Earth just told you that if your CEO is using AI to cut headcount, it means one thing: They have no imagination. They have no vision for what comes next. They got handed the most powerful tool in human history and their FIRST instinct was to fire people. This is the CEO of NVIDIA. The company whose chips power every AI system on the planet. If anyone on Earth has the right to say "AI replaces workers," it's Jensen Huang. And he said the OPPOSITE. He said every carpenter could become an architect. Every plumber could become an architect. AI elevates capability. It doesn't eliminate it. But here's where it gets really interesting... During the same interview, Jensen revealed something nobody's talking about: He said AI startups like OpenAI and Anthropic are seeing their revenues increase by one to two billion dollars a WEEK. And he wishes these companies were public so the world could see what he sees. One to two billion per week. That's a $50 to $100 BILLION annualized run rate. For companies that most people think are burning cash and making nothing. The entire Wall Street narrative that "AI companies aren't profitable" might be completely wrong. Jensen sees their numbers. He sees their compute orders. He sees their growth. And he's saying the revenue is real. So if the money IS real, why are other companies firing people? Because they're not building AI products. They're not creating new revenue streams. They're not using AI to expand into new markets. They're using AI as an EXCUSE to cut costs because they ran out of ideas 3 years ago and need something to tell the board. Jensen's company added $500 billion in new orders in 5 months. He expects $1 trillion in cumulative revenue through 2027 from just two product lines. That number doesn't include the new chips, systems, or partnerships announced this week. And he's not cutting people. He's hiring. Because when you have imagination, more capability means MORE opportunity. Not less headcount. Meanwhile Salesforce cut thousands. Meta cut thousands. Amazon cut thousands. All blaming "AI efficiency." Jensen's response: You're out of imagination. He also said something that stuck with me. Cramer asked if he ever thought he'd build a $10 to $20 trillion company while waiting tables at Denny's. His answer: "I was just trying to make it through the shift." Biggest tip he ever got? Two, three dollars. Now he's building tech that increased computing demand by one million times in two years. He announced OpenClaw, which he says is as big as ChatGPT. And he's got 21 months of new business that isn't even counted in the trillion dollar figure yet. When asked how long he plans to keep working? "I'm hoping to die on the job. And I'm not hoping to die anytime soon." This is a man who believes every single thing he's building. And his message to every CEO using AI to justify layoffs is simple... You're not innovating. You're surrendering. The technology wasn't built to shrink companies. It was built to make them limitless. If your leadership can't see that, the problem isn't AI. It's THEM.

Access to information is what drives prices in markets. While there's no shortage of information today, the real challenge is figuring out what actually matters and getting it in time. Exchange filings, earnings, management commentary, and conference calls. When something material comes out, prices react almost instantly. The faster you get the information, the better your odds of reacting sensibly. Institutions and high-frequency trading desks scan exchange filings the moment they're published and act within milliseconds. Retail investors usually find out much later—by then, the price has often already moved. Tijori just released the WhatsApp alerts feature. It tracks exchange filings, earnings releases, conference calls, management guidance, verified company tweets, and anything that could materially impact a stock. The moment something is published, it's summarised using AI and sent to you on WhatsApp within seconds. For traders, this means getting access to critical filings during market hours, well before traditional news or media picks them up. For investors, it’s a simpler way to stay informed without having to search for news for each stock or rely on social media commentary. And even if you’re just getting started with investing, work in a company, or run a business, it’s a useful way to track competitors. Follow companies in a sector and get real-time updates of their key announcements and actions. You can enable alerts by visiting the Tijori Alerts website (link in comments) or directly from the Kite Fundamentals widget.

🚨 BREAKING 🚨 Through the Red Line Project, we’ve uncovered 10,000+ active PERM filings now under review at the Department of Labor. ❌ Until now, Americans only got proof of discrimination years later, after the DOL already processed the applications. That delay left laid-off and displaced Americans without evidence. ➡️ If you applied to one of these “PERM jobs” as a qualified American and never heard back, while the company moved on to sponsor a foreign worker, that’s discrimination, and this data proves it. Jobs. Now ➡️ If you were laid off and your employer filed a PERM for the same occupation within 6 months, even if it’s not your exact job title, they were required by law to notify you. If you now see that role in our PERM data and they never contacted you, you can prove a violation. ❌️These companies told the Department of Labor that no qualified Americans existed. On that basis, they hired foreign workers and now want more than 10,000 certified for permanent residency in the United States. ❌️This isn’t just H-1B displacement. This is permanent. A pipeline that locks out American workers in a market already flooded with cheap foreign labor, while thousands of jobs continue to be offshored and at the very moment AI is set to wipe out millions of jobs. 🚨That's why the PERM data we're exposing today matters🚨 🇺🇲It gives Americans the power to stop the pipeline of displacement, hold these employers accountable, and support the Department of Labor's Project Firewall before corporations succeed in locking in our permanent replacement. 🔗 to data in comments

If there’s one lesson people are beginning to realize about modern technology, it’s this: The devices we rely on every day aren’t just tools. They’re surveillance systems. 👉 Learn more: Your phone tracks your location. Your apps collect your behavior. And now, AI integrated directly into your computer can record what you do on your screen every few seconds. Your emails. Your messages. Your searches. Even things you type but never send. That isn’t speculation. It’s the direction Big Tech has already taken. And the uncomfortable truth is that the people building these systems know exactly how powerful they are. Many of the same tech leaders who sell these devices to billions of users take extraordinary precautions with their own technology, covering cameras and limiting the very tools they encourage everyone else to use. Because data is power. And the more data that flows through these systems, the more influence the companies behind them gain over the digital world we all live in. But the playing field doesn’t have to stay that way. On Thursday, privacy experts Glenn and Eric Meder are hosting a free Privacy Academy webinar explaining exactly how these systems work and what people can do about them. During the training, they walk through how modern operating systems collect and analyze your behavior, how AI tools can build detailed behavioral profiles, and why many of the privacy settings people rely on don’t actually stop data collection. More importantly, they explain a practical alternative. Instead of relying on software designed around data collection, they show how privacy-focused systems like Linux can give users far more control over their own computers. And they break it down step by step so everyday people—not just programmers or tech experts—can understand how to make the transition. Because once you understand how these systems work, protecting your privacy becomes far easier than most people think. The free webinar is happening Thursday, March 5 at 7 PM Central, and it’s open to anyone who wants to understand how Big Tech is gathering data—and how to stop it. 👉 Register here: You can’t control the direction the tech industry chooses to take. But you can control how much access those systems have to your life. We want to thank Privacy Academy for helping everyday people understand how the digital world really works and for being a proud sponsor of this program. If you’re interested in learning more, visit do your own research, and decide if the training is right for you. Because when it comes to privacy, the most important step is understanding the system you’re living inside.

As you know, I’ve spent most of the last decade fighting for better rights and a better deal for UK Veterans. I’m really proud of what we achieved. But I always wanted to achieve more. Much more. I do not accept that veterans are a charity - now even more so than when I made my maiden speech to Parliament ten years ago. I want veterans to access the very best opportunities and services - when they want, how they want to, in a way in which they feel most comfortable, using class-leading technologies. I’m excited to say I’ve been working closely with Alfie from Fill Your Boots (I know, right?!), Ben the CEO of Forces Horizon, and a whole load of other partners who I thought were particularly impressive from my time in office, to fix the issues we still face using the power of innovative tech and artificial intelligence. VeteranX is the result. VeteranX is a UK Tech company founded by Alfie and myself which is building the world’s most comprehensive AI powered platform for veterans, fusing the most powerful large language models and the best datasets on military skills and what they mean for employment after service, together with the most complete integration of third-party resources (Government and Charity), to produce the best global Veteran user experience right here in the UK. It’s for everyone - I’m tired of the competitive nature of the veterans care sector, that still leaves too many out in the cold. It’s for employers who want to access to better talent, faster, and in a much more efficient manner that reduces reliance on a ‘who you know’ network. It’s for charities who need help targeting those who would most benefit from their services. It’s for veteran-focused community interested groups who need better technical and data support to operate in the sector. But above all of these groups, it is shamelessly for the Veteran and their family. I still spend many hours a week answering emails, or hearing from people coming over in the pub, asking how they access services that I know are out there and that I know will make them better, or get them that opportunity they want after service. I know the same is for Alfie, and others like him. I want to build a platform to take the strain; that we can all work on and all be part of, in an endless pursuit of world class veterans care that we know is out there, but is too often too difficult to find or mired in bureaucracy and competition. Have a look. Let me know what you think. It’s for you, after all.

The government really needs to put its foot down and tackle this urban challenge of beggars in Lagos. I know that some are Nigerians, and a Nigerian is free to live anywhere in the country, and all that, but it is not the responsibility of the Lagos State Government to take care of every beggar in Nigeria. They should be sent back to their states. I understand talents from all over Nigeria and the rest of the world coming to Lagos to work, to hustle, and to do business. Fine, the state can accommodate as much talent as possible, and it is even expanding because more people will come. But anybody coming to Lagos without a plan or to beg should be sent back to their states. When you allow this to continue, it becomes an identity. You are already hearing things like “Abegistan.” Why allow people to come into the state and damage the reputation? There should be agreements with their state governments, send them back and let their governments take care of them. If their states cannot take care of highly skilled people, at least they should be able to take care of the indigent ones. Every state government should develop social housing and support systems for their own people. Lagos cannot carry everyone. Stop allowing people to abandon their citizens and shift the burden. For those who claim to be Lagosians, let their ancestry be properly verified. If they are truly from Lagos, the government should take them in, rehabilitate them, and put them into vocational training. After training, support them with jobs or small businesses. Because it doesn’t make sense to be paying for people from other states while your own people are struggling. This was what Govs. Fashola and Ambode tried to address because they understood the long-term effects. When people can’t walk freely without being approached by beggars, it affects the city. Lagos is one of the most visited city in Nigeria, especially for people coming from abroad. It should not have this kind of identity. Please, send them back to their states and let their governments take responsibility. Nobody can take care of everybody, you are not Father Christmas, people wont even appreciate in the end so its not worth it. Sola Giwa Oluwaseun Osiyemi Idris Connecting Nigeria Engr.
