Yes they need to speed up the process. Over 90% of cases are not eligible for Asylum. Asylum is supposed to be declared in first safe country. Not travel 10k miles and thru 10 countries.

This is reasonable. Too much red tape. Since the majority go in front of the immigration court anyway and will be heard there it seems ridiculous to have an interview before anyway. It can really step up the process for those that have been waiting way too long.

They’ve already been doing this for at LEAST 2 yrs. The individual gets another bite at the apple by being sent to Imm court. HOWEVER, if the individual DOES NOT have an asylum claim, DHS can request the Jusge pretermit the case. Meaning prsn does NOT have a legit asylum case.
