I just had my little dirt bike. So I drove my dirt bike to and from work, which was the first time I'd ever done that. And that really like wakes you up. You show up feeling like you're pretty amped and ready to go. I would say that helped." "Then, you know, the energy on set was like everyone was very excited to be there and telling the story, and everyone had such good characters. It was so well written, and Austin Peters directed the heck out of this thing, and it's like such good energy. I've thought Lewis Pullman might be able to ride a motorcycle because he grew up going to Montana a lot and working on a ranch, there's an old pic like this and he even knows how to drive a tractor. (he was on the tractor division of landscaping crew in college 🫠) But it's the first time I've heard him talk about dirt bike!! omg 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 And I really want to see him ride his dirt bike! 😭😭

“The last time that we were touring and stuff, I think touring is quite an isolating experience. And on top of that, when we started touring, it was 2021, so it was kind of like still depths of the pandemic. We were like one of the first tours to go back out. So I think that tour started in that way where it was like, I was really bubbled up even kind of within the tour. And then staying on that tour, we put an album out and it ended up being like two and a half years type time. It's just a long time to be in like a bubble where you're not really spending that much time like in the world around you, other than shows and hotels and stuff. And when I finished, I kind of went off and was spending a lot of time in Italy, and was kind of like having this quiet time, and I was just feeling a lot of my life as I was kind of like, craving like quiet and kind of like private spaces. Director Antoine Fuqua was so blown away by his performance, he says he thinks he "forgot to yell cut”. He explains… “That’s Denzel. He was just in his zone. I really, really, really wanted to drop this song last year. When I first put out the snippet, I was so excited - but it was hard to finish it on time because everything was a blur. I was sick and weak and nauseous and tired and my body just wouldn't do what I wanted it to. Even in the snippet video, I wasn't feeling great. I was just trying my best. I adore Chike's voice and I knew it was him that had to be on the song with me. When I asked him to give me a verse, he was so ready to go, but he was out of town. As soon as he came back, he came over to my studio the next day 🥹. I got a lotta respect for him. He didn't know I was pregnant and suffering 😅 Watching this video back now, I can't even understand where the energy came from. When the song was done, I struggled to mix it. Even so, I decided to master it myself. I hate mastering, so I don't know what I thinking. I was so disappointed that I couldn't meet the deadline. Everyone had fallen in love with the song and was asking me to put it out. I didn't have the energy to make content. I don't even remember them recording this video. Given how much I love this song, I'm a little bummed I couldn't give it energy it deserves. But please, know that a lot of love and resilience went into this song.
