I leveraged STB back in 2004 to develop a custom engine. Legendary code. Heck, eternal code.

Excellent video on both the mechanisms behind single file libraries and for letting me know about stb which I missed somehow. I have used the single file amalgamation of sqlite but never stb, very cool!

Oh now I understand why some libs/packages are single header includes in C/C++ for example: Although it doesn’t need to use macros like you just showed, maybe cuz of C++ (I am new to this language :p)

Do one on unity builds, Mr. @tsoding.

js: hold my beer

C is goat

Love the video thank u

I refuse to use that woke freak’s image loaders so I wrote my own

Absolute masterpiece.

Absolutely brilliant 👏

I actually implemented std_image today 😂😎🫡

what did js do? 😄

Comrade Tsoding, great to see you still programming!!!

Formally, a language can impose, what I call, the ODR paradigm, and, or, the non ODR paradigm. ODR is roughly how it is defined in C/C++. Header only libraries are sometimes used to impose a non ODR paradigm, formally speaking. And it is one reason why the T exists in C++ STL.

I randomly know now why there are header files :D great

I would always pick a single js file without any dependencies over a npm module

Educational video, with utterly false title. I'm gonna call it learnbaiting. Jokes aside, you can certainly just do this in Javascript. It's astonishing how much people forget that this is literally how Javascript libraries started in the browser.

Oh yea, stbi and stbc were instrumental when I tried to write an OpenGL renderer in plain C a few years back.

Ohh yeah 🤓😎

Very good explanation.

😎

stb isn't a library, it's a header :D

I prefer: from lib import x

next idea, libraries that revolutionized objective-c? 😅

What do you think about Rust?

Very cool

Wow! Fantastic video. So much knowledge contained in this 10 min video that it's amazing. Great stuff. thanks for sharing.

include <bios.h>; include <dos.h>;

that's cool

the best libraries are invisible - you just assume that's how things work. half the internet runs on code nobody talks about

that's brilliant

Yeah, AI is not replacing this one lol

TBH js sucks! again a great short video! nice explanation! 🙌

Wonder if ai can replicate this
