The 3D learning experience is thinking an idea I came up with is cool and spent hours implementing it to find out that it only works for a very specific situation aka it’s useless. HAHA Basically I rigged the collar with their own bones so they don’t deform weirdly with the arm/shoulder movement then realise the sleeve clips into the collar on Z rotation. Decided to try applying the twist bone logic of bone constraints (copy rotation) and was like wow, it kinda works to move the collar away when the arm rotates to the front! But reality is that it just looks nice on T-pose and the “effect” is weird when the arms are posed downwards (which would be the default state of the model in its intended use)… And also the sleeve will still clip into the collar at a more extreme rotation anyway so I guess it was a fruitless effort in the end hahaha It did help me get more comfortable with the idea of applying bone constraints for other uses tho so that’s a plus! ദ്ദി(•⥿•)ว✨ In the end I’ll probably have colliders on the sleeve to prevent clipping with the collar as much as possible but I think a big degree of clipping is still inevitable considering the range of movement when the model is used for 3D vtubing 🤔

🧱 #Live3D #Live2D #HandTracking 🧱 I spent some time refining the way I use Warp Deformers to create lateral physics-based swinging motion in Live2D. With a new production concept, I tried to achieve the highest possible level of mathematical precision. At the core are two fundamental swinging structures, which I can mix in different proportions to create different qualities of motion. The first is parallel swinging. Both sides of the Warp Deformer remain perfectly parallel throughout the motion, making it look somewhat like a sheet of paper or a tassel. The second is bending swinging. The angle between the two sides of the Warp Deformer changes as it moves, making it look more like a flexible tube or a tail. （0:12）Interestingly, when I layer the first and second structures together, the bottom forms an X-shaped pattern as it swings. It looks a little like a spine or some kind of mechanical structure. （0:23）The third structure is an equal blend of the first and second. Its characteristics are much more neutral, combining the qualities of both. （0:35）The fourth and fifth structures are created by smoothly blending the first structure into the center of the second, and the second into the center of the first, respectively. This makes them appear softer and more flexible, somewhat like a piece of fabric. （0:28）Interestingly, when I blend the fourth and fifth structures equally, the result is exactly identical to the third structure. This also demonstrates that, despite their apparent complexity, the two are actually perfect mirror images of each other. Every physics-based motion shown here uses a two-segment pendulum structure, with a swinging range of ±90°. In theory, when curled to its limit, it can bend upward into a perfect semicircle. To most people, this may look as boring as a brick. But to me, this is exactly where the romance of Live2D physics lies. Does anyone else feel the same way?

Lighting differences can make a huge difference in robotics. Today, I found a quirk in my model exemplifying this. > I collected 10h of training data. > 3h in, I notice that the left arm following the right arm for the final movement could be good for the final insertion subtask. > I change behaviour. > But the first 3h didn't include much nighttime data (=dark room). 🎯Result The same policy reliably exhibits different behaviour on exactly this subtask depending on the lighting. So many microlearnings to be made in robotics.

Velocity principle: Matching the rotational planes of the arm and trunk. How this shows up in a biomechanical analysis: elbow extension peaks before shoulder internal rotation. What it looks like when botched: the arm pushes, “dart-throws,” “climbs,” or “karate chops” into release. One tool that can help: Indian clubs. The added inertia from the end-weighted design exaggerates this spiraling into ball release (often referred to as “centrifugal” force). Tips: -Find the back hip to start the sequence (pelvis> trunk > arm). -Relaxed arm, neutral wrist. -Progress from lassos to figure 8’s and get creative from there. -Should feel like the arm is “left behind,” not “leading the way.” -Can do holds or throws into a net. -Going too heavy can negate any benefits and lead to an axe-throwing pattern as the arm tenses up. The puppet starts in a T-pose, and when I move the parameters, they pass through a logic gate simulated by physics pendulums. This distributes the pose into the correct XYZ angles for the upper arm, forearm, and palm. That’s how it creates both the relaxed and raised arm movements seen in the video. The IK system works in a similar way. It maps the captured XY position of the palm to the arm’s XY rotation, making it possible to “move the hand” in space. These systems have been floating in my head for a long time, and today I finally confirmed they’re feasible. I plan to apply this further by adding more preset poses and new control methods to the puppet.

ISRO has successfully demonstrated the use of their RRM-TD Walking Robotic Arm!! 🦾 This makes ISRO the 5th space agency to operate a robotic arm in space! 🇮🇳 RRM-TD was launched on PSLV-C60 as one of the non-separating payloads on board POEM-4. It can be considered as an ancestor of the type of robotic arms that will be used on the Bharatiya Antariksh Station! The success of this demonstration validates their technology and will allow ISRO to move forward with the development of more advanced versions of this for use on BAS. Video of the demonstration 👇

I always get the usual abuse for anything that questions the godlike status of Elon Musk, but I'm not shutting up because the questions need asking when the alternative arena that I saw grow from nothing is being hijacked by a multi-billionaire and his sycophants. There is a whole other way of looking at this that the Mainstream Alternative Media (MAM) refuses to consider: 'The Multifront Attack on Elon Musk'. Stop seeing what appears to be the obvious interpretation and start looking for the twist - there is ALWAYS a twist.

Dr. Marie Russell makes a fantastic point about how on John O’Keefe’s right arm sweatshirt sleeve, the fibers at the puncture holes are coming outward, signifying that the entry object that caused the holes in the sleeve & the corresponding wounds on John’s arm, also exited or pulled out of the sleeve. This observation is highly characteristic of wounds caused by dog bites through a sleeve. However, this would not occur as the result of taillight, or any object for that matter, shattering onto John O’Keefe’s arm—as in that case, the shattered taillight pieces wouldn’t pull out or “exit” from the fabric like dog teeth would. Squaring The Face Controlling your golf ball is all about managing the club face. Understanding the how the arms will influence the club face is key. The lead arm will have some internal rotation in the backswing, therefore we will need to add external rotation to this arm through the release. If we fail to do this, we will leave the face open and often bring in more chicken wing/scoop patterns through contact. Learning to externally rotate the lead arm will help you keep a flat lead wrist and deliver a stronger loft. If you’re a player who tends to slice or fade the ball, this concept will help you to feel what you need to square it up. I just posted the full version of this lesson on the ProShopApp!!! Tesla autonomy has become so advanced that it behaves in an incredibly human-like way. When faced with being stuck in a right-hand turn-only lane when Robotaxi needs to go straight, it attempts to negotiate with a human, as in this video. In this case, I caught the man in the car next to us visibly shaking his head “no”—that happens when people will not let another person, or in this case a robot, into the lane where they need to go. So Robotaxi made the right decision and continued on, going around the block and then succeeding the next time around.

Here is the Geometry Nodes Weighted Normals with Laplacian Blur on a full character (a vroid). It easily improves the shading even on game topology with almost no setup. I built this as part of my quest to improve real time toon shading. 3D anime models are popular, but use of dynamic light is rare even among high quality vtuber models. This is for several reasons, but a big one is simply that it takes a lot of Custom Normals work to make 3D cel shading not look like a jagged mess (other pieces of the puzzle are issues like deformations, multiple lights, etc). And fixing Normals is tedious, especially on existing game topology. I have focused on proxy meshes for priority areas like character faces, but they aren't an efficient solution for the whole body + outfit. I wanted something I could just throw on any model and make it at least not a jagged mess anymore even if it wasn't perfect. As you can see from this clip, this does that very well! And vertex groups can be used to control the style of the effect and power. It still can't smooth beyond what the topology density can support, but the topo itself is no longer a problem (for higher res, could be run on a subdivided version of the model and then baked to a Normal Map.) The only changes I made to this model were adding a weld modifier to merge split edges during interpolation, and a vertex group to select the skirt. I have not yet added full handling and logic for detecting edges with big angles like the skirt, or for handling boundaries like on the hair, so both those areas can get better too. You can also see that while it successfully smooths out the Face, it isn't really stylistically correct there. That is still best done with a proxy mesh to define a new shape. This is part of the tools I am working on for Fondant. We are putting together a Blender Addon to release this + a proxy mesh tool for the face, and are working on resolving other problems in-engine to fully bring dynamic light to real time 3D toon shading. You can also see that while it successfully smooths out the Face, it isn't really stylistically correct there. That is still best done with a proxy mesh to define a new shape. This is part of the tools I am working on for Fondant. We are putting together a Blender Addon to release this + a proxy mesh tool for the face, and are working on resolving other problems in-engine to fully bring dynamic light to real time 3D toon shading. Milestone! We (robotic arms for gadgets assembly) finished the first commercial order, which brought the first revenue. Here are some learnings from this: The customer was a smart toy manufacturer. The task was to add a heatsink to Raspberry Pi. We received parts from them and returned the assembled modules back. Currently, it's done by teleoperation. Later it will be done by a remote employee via the Internet. Then it will be automated action by action, reducing the operator's time on this and making the task profitable. ps. If you have an assembly task that we can do for you asynchronically - leave a comment below. Learning 1. It's possible! This task which is usually done by the human arm with 5 fingers can be done with a two-finger gripper with the addition of a couple of simple tooling. The task was not simplified. We peeled off thin films from stickers, unpacked paper boxes, moved PCB boards full of components, etc. And no unsolvable problems have been encountered yet. Challenges: 1) The paper box shifted during the opening Solved with the plastic walls that you can lean against 2) Heat pad, stuck to the gripper instead of heat sync. Can be solved by gripper with a pump, but this time solved with the patience of the operator 3) The film on the pad is very thin. Turned out that sub-millimeter arm precision is enough to peel it off with just a regular gripper. 4) The working area has not enough space. You'll only know this by doing real tasks in bulk. This could be solved by an extra pair of long arms, but in this case, solved with the patience of the operator. I think that in the end, we will have 5-10 types of universal tooling and 5-10 types of grippers to solve almost all the problems in such assembly tasks. Learning 2. It's slow. It took 5 times more time, than doing it with human hands. But the good news is there's a lot of room for improvement. We now have specific “time for task” metrics, which we will decrease with iterations. The main reasons for slowness: 1) To rotate the gripper to a steep angle you are forced to control one robot arm with two hands instead of using both arms. We can fix this by just making more room for rotations. 2) Grabbing PCB board with two arms is hard. A slight difference in rotation can break the board, and it's hard to control these angles visually. To solve this, the best way is to use force feedback so you can feel the pressure applied to the item. 3) Accuracy and steadiness is still can be improved We will try a metal version and double the motors to do this. 4) It is physically difficult for the human hands to move with such precision To solve this, we will add a pad for the hands like in surgical robots Learning 3. It's a good business model The "Factory in the cloud" is a good business model for this stage. You send us parts and we send back assembled modules. Currently, it's more convenient than sending a robot to your place, as we can iterate/fix the robot quickly and utilize it 100% of the time. When we polish the set-up over time - we can send robots to your place. So if we can assemble something for you in the USA with Chinese prices by using modern automation - leave a comment below.

The exercise that most people have never even seen that can build your chest and pressing power the most It’s an exercise that has no home, no faction has made it famous. Allow me to share the benefits First, you actually already use this concept on other exercises. You barbell row, and you single arm row. Why wouldn’t you also barbell bench, and single arm bench? Second, most people would agree they have a stronger side. Usually the dominant arm is stronger. This exercise is great for ensuring you don’t have a large strength discrepancy on your arms, and if you do, this exercise can fix that for you. Single arm pressing is also going to train the core. A lot of people new to this exercise will actually report a lot of abdominal soreness, and you get this from bracing and stabilizing the load on one side and no load on the other. The weight creates a “sling” effect for the core. This is what makes single arm bench much different than just alternating bench. Lastly I think the triceps are trained much more directly than 2 arm variations which helps transfer to not only bench but overhead press as well
