METAL SNAPPED LIKE BONE: 190-Foot Bailey Bridge Tears Apart, Truck Smashes Into Sutlej’s Churning Hell - Congress Neglect Turns Highway Into Death Trap In a split-second of raw terror on Tuesday, the 190-foot Bailey bridge in Himachal Pradesh’s Kinnaur district didn’t collapse it exploded in a violent, grinding shriek of twisting steel and shattering concrete. The truck was midway across the narrow, overloaded span on National Highway 5 (Old Hindustan-Tibet Road) between Reckong and Tapri near Urni Dhank when the entire structure gave way. Metal panels ripped apart like wet paper, the deck buckled and dropped, and the heavy vehicle was hurled sideways into a sickening free-fall. It smashed into the violent, rock-strewn Sutlej River nearly 200 feet below with a thunderous, bone-crushing impact that sent water and debris exploding upward. For several horrifying seconds the truck was half-submerged and battered by the freezing, merciless current before the driver somehow clawed his way out of the wreckage with only minor injuries - alive, but staring straight into what should have been his grave. This was no random accident. It is the direct, predictable result of the ruling Congress government’s years of criminal neglect and cost-cutting in Himachal Pradesh. Under Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the state has allowed these dangerous, temporary Bailey bridges - never meant for heavy, long-term use - to remain on one of the most treacherous mountain highways in the country. Instead of replacing them with proper permanent structures, the Congress administration has gambled with countless lives, prioritising everything except the safety of people forced to travel these killer routes every day. The twisted wreckage hanging over the gorge and the crushed truck in the Sutlej are not just the remains of a bridge. They are proof of a government that has failed its most basic duty: keeping citizens alive on the roads it claims to maintain.

🌊🌧 #MumbaiRains #floods: Why was flooding so severe in #Vasai, #Virar & #Nalasopara this time? 🌧️ The rainfall was exceptional across the entire region. Both Vasai-Virar and its surrounding river catchments witnessed very heavy to extremely heavy rains. However, the widespread flooding wasn't caused by rainfall over Vasai-Virar alone, it was the result of multiple factors occurring simultaneously, with enormous upstream river discharge, tidal locking and urban drainage systems struggling to cope with such unprecedented volumes of water. The Ulhas River, originating near Lonavala, received extraordinary inflows after its upper catchment recorded around 1569 mm of rainfall in just 3 days. Torrential rain across the Ulhas Valley, Pune Ghats and Thane interiors sent enormous volumes of water into Vasai Creek.🌊🏞 At the same time, intense rainfall over the Nashik Ghats ⛰️, Igatpuri, Trimbakeshwar, Shahapur and Palghar swelled the Vaitarna River, which drains into the sea just north of Virar. The Tungareshwar ranges ⛰️ also received torrential rain, with numerous streams and nallas adding further runoff into the Vasai-Virar drainage network. Meanwhile, Vasai, Virar and Nalasopara themselves were experiencing torrential rainfall of about 600-700mm in last 3 days, generating massive local runoff. The region was effectively jammed from both sides. Massive upstream river discharge coincided with high tides 🌊, also during Monsoon the seas remain already rough slowing the outflow into the Arabian Sea and creating a backwater effect that prevented creeks and stormwater drains from emptying efficiently. Such an extraordinary volume of water would have stressed any drainage system. However, rapid urbanisation, shrinking wetlands and mangroves, encroachment of natural drainage channels and increasing concretisation have significantly reduced the region's natural capacity to store and drain floodwater, making the impacts even more severe. This event was a classic example of record-breaking rainfall across multiple river basins, intense local rain, tidal locking and urban infrastructure struggling to cope with an unprecedented volume of water. Today, inflows into the river systems 🌊 remain high, and several areas may continue to experience waterlogging and flooding. However, with rainfall expected to gradually reduce from now, river levels should slowly begin to recede as the excess water drains into the sea. Even so, the impacts of this exceptional rainfall event are likely to persist for the next few days, especially in low-lying areas, until the entire drainage system returns to normal. 🌧️ #KokanRains #PalgharRains #ThaneRains Video credits: varun mundra & Vasai Virar Update

Ecolab East Africa on the Spot Over Workplace Injury Compensation Claim A former employee of Ecolab East Africa (K) Ltd has accused the company of failing to compensate him for injuries sustained while on duty, despite providing the necessary documentation and evidence supporting his claim. According to the ex-employee, the company has persistently ignored his demands for compensation, leaving him without recourse after the workplace injury. He alleges that after initially engaging a lawyer to pursue the matter, the legal representative has since become unresponsive, offering vague explanations without making tangible progress. The affected worker, who had dedicated years of service to the company, claims that despite repeated attempts to seek justice, Ecolab East Africa has refused to address the matter. Instead, he has now been invited back to work, a move he interprets as an attempt to sidestep its obligations. Documents seen by this publication indicate that the former employee has medical reports and other relevant evidence detailing the nature and extent of his injuries. However, without the company's cooperation or clear legal representation, he remains in limbo, uncertain of how to proceed. Ecolab East Africa (K) Ltd, a regional subsidiary of the multinational Ecolab Inc., is known for providing water, hygiene, and energy technologies to various industries. The former employee is now seeking alternative legal avenues to compel the company to fulfil its obligations, expressing frustration at the stalled process. "Hi Cyprian. I have an issue I want you to help me with kindly. I was injured in a company I used to work with, I was never compensated and this fellows have even refused to listen to me and the lawyer I took is now giving me stories I don't understand him anymore I have all the documents you need and all the evidence required is there a way you can help me kindly. Eco lab limited. These fellows refused to compensate me and now they are calling me back to work. Since they stopped paying me this have been tough on my side I owe my land lady 3months rent I barely feed myself and my pregnant wife because I can't work I haven't fully recovered I don't even know where I will get my next meal fromThe lawyer I had decided to withdraw the case and no longer talks to me I guess he was paid off."

A very good morning. Welcome to The Council Benji This marks the third Skull in a little run. The first went to a fund I've never met. The second: through Eli Scheinman to a new collector/foundation who has been quietly entering the space in a very significant way across a number of collections whom I’ve never spoken to. Their new entrance enabled a wedding and start of a new married life for Conviction. In my very first conversation with him, we spoke about curses and commitments to the people we love. Since meeting got to talk through each step on that path, from letting go, what is imbued in the ring and ceremony of it all, a proposal, and on the way to the most important of the steps in pursuit of a blessed life. It is easy to get a little cynical on the over-leveraged exit stories that spring up from time to time, so it is a treat to watch one go towards a celebration that’s been building up in his life since the Skull was first acquired. And now: this. The third Skull and the first I can really write about as a shared story across both source and destination. An exit and an entrance. The exit: The Skulls of Luci were awarded as gifts 4 years ago. But before I'd minted Birth of Luci or painted the other 49, the first person in this space I showed the sketch of The Blueprint Skull to was actually Casey💎, when he was working at SuperRare . Casey was the very first person who onboarded me to NFTs, helping me navigate the early days of whatever it meant to even mint something. I explained the idea of gifting one to each person who bid in my first auctions. Though most of the Skulls went to the bidders, Casey's didn't. He didn't ask for one. I didn't tell him I'd give him one. But he helped me take my first steps here, and it's hard to imagine any of this making sense, or unfolding the way it has, without him. Since then, we've broken bread across continents, seen quite a lot of chortling margarita consumption, watched the rise and fall of a lot around us, weathered inter-Council dramas. He brought Laura El into The Monument Game, played as a Player, wore a Mask. Most of the vibe that started all of this, the wild west of it, feels faded in the broader space at times. But every Skull has a story and a person who helped us get here. Casey will always be the one who was there before any metric muddled the reason to care. The entrance: Last fall, Benji came over for a studio visit. We walked through Luci, the works, structure, and dream, as anyone who visits does. But we mostly talked about being a father and having a father. We discussed the very idea of "collection" stripped of accumulation, value, or signal, located more in the act or ceremony of it. What it was to grow up with a curious father who studied the edges of each thing he saw to know the next layer beneath why anyone might look or ignore it. That to pass this on is to pass on questioning, more than it is to pass on any kind of answer. The process of collecting can be perceived as an individual act of hoarding. For some it is maybe. But at its best, it's a way to bind through shared questioning, to bond in cooperation and competition with friends and family, it is the swapped story and meme of it all, and each object gathered along the way carries some shared memory that can, often does, and with intent: should; drift out of the object entirely. All in the psalm, always has been. The studio visit came and went. Soon after, a package arrived in the mail with two of the softest stuffed animals added to my daughter's own collection, now among her favorites. The Skull is a bonus to that, in the scheme of shared memory. For Rachel and I, while we are heads down making a body of work that unsettles us and excites us but demands unknown time to accomplish, it means a great deal to have this kind of support from long term people in the quiet process of making work we want to leave behind ourselves. Enormously grateful to Casey for the many years of support and friendship, to Benny for being a true patron, and to Benji for entering the arena for what I'm working on next. Welcome.

Prince William will mark Diana's 64th birthday on July 1st, with a personal visit to his Homeless project in Sheffield. That will also mark the second anniversary of The Royal Foundation’s Homeward programme👌 It will be the perfect tribute from a son to his mother's legacy of charitable work as he credits her for inspiring his passion for solving homelessness. Patrick Jephson was quoted saying: "Diana repeatedly told her son he had been born to fulfil a duty & it would be an opportunity for him to use his influence for the good of those less fortunate"❤️ Meanwhile Prince William himself explaining his passion for helping end homelessness said in the 2024 ITV documentary, 'We Can End Homelessness': "My mother took me to The Passage. She took Harry and I both there. I must have been about 11, I think, probably, at the time. Maybe 10. I’d never been to anything like that before. And I was a bit anxious as to what to expect,” “My mother went about her usual part of making everyone feel relaxed, and having a laugh and joking with everyone. I remember at the time, kind of thinking, well, if everyone’s not got a home, they’re all going to be really sad."🔥 “But it was incredible how happy an environment it was,” recalls Prince William. "That’s when it dawned on me that there are other people out there who don’t have the same life as you do, People who are in really bad place... It's like you want to just protect them".❤️ Prince William continued: “I feel, with my position and my platform, I should be delivering change. I've spent enough time learning and listening to what people have been through that I feel almost guilty every time I leave that I'm not doing more to help."🔥 “I feel compelled to act, because I don't want to just talk about it. I don't want to just listen. I actually want to see someone smile because their life has been made better," “Building a project is the only way I can see, at the moment, to try and alleviate [the problem], and help people who are in a much less fortunate, or in a very difficult, situation.”😍 As I always say, Diana's true lasting legacy is not even her own Work, It will always be her son, William👌 #PrinceofWales 📹ITV1

I was planning to return him to the shelter on Monday. It’s hard to admit, but I had reached my limit. His name is Sarge, a 110-pound Pyrenees mix, and for three weeks he had been exhausting to handle. He didn’t destroy things or bark nonstop. He escaped. A six-foot fence didn’t stop him — he dug underneath. A locked gate didn’t matter — he figured out how to open it. Every day while I was at work, he would get out. Animal control kept finding him miles away, worn out, covered in dirt, sometimes limping. I couldn’t keep dealing with the fines or the constant stress. “He doesn’t want to be here,” I told my sister. “He just keeps running.” Saturday changed everything. I was home that morning when, around 10, he started pacing. Whining. Scratching at the door. This time, I let him out — but I followed him. I needed to know where he kept going. He didn’t head toward a park. He didn’t chase anything. He lowered his nose and moved forward with quiet determination, like he had a destination in mind. We walked a long way. Across a highway. Through thick brush that tore at my clothes. Eventually, he stopped at a cemetery. He slipped through a broken section of the fence, and I climbed over after him. I found him in the far corner — the part no one visits anymore. He was lying flat in front of a small, weathered headstone. Completely still. No panting. No restlessness. Just… there. I stepped closer and read the name. It belonged to an elderly man. That’s when it clicked. Why the shelter struggled to place him. Why he kept escaping. He wasn’t running away from me. He was going back to someone. For years, Sarge had been making that same journey. Rain, heat, cold — it didn’t matter. He had somewhere he needed to be. I sat down beside him in the dirt and rested my hand on his tangled fur. He let out a long, quiet sigh and leaned his heavy head against my leg. I’m not taking him back on Monday. Instead, I bought a strong harness and a long lead. If he needs to visit his person, he won’t have to do it alone anymore. We’ll go together. Every Saturday. He’s not trying to escape. He’s just that loyal. If you want to see Sarge now — how he’s doing, how he still makes those quiet Saturday visits — comment “Sarge” and I’ll show you his update.
