The only thing we were certain about, which unfortunately now we also have a lot of evidence for, is that lockdowns would cause enormous harm. Lockdowns cause harm at a socioeconomic level, not just within the country but we do have global responsibility. 400M people falling into food insecurity is not something we should just dismiss as happening over there. But even within the UK there was enormous socioeconomic harm and harm done to the poor and to the young..
