Lots of changes happening in dealerships: New technologies, better software, integrated systems... But one under-discussed topic? The dealership workforce (yes, like actual people). Devin Daly, CEO of automotive software leader Impel, explains why he believes A.I. will completely change the dealership workforce as we know it:

Last week we were told AI would never replace people this week the total opposite. Which is it ?? Let me guess Mr Daly owns/runs an AI company ??

Different people, different opinions! that’s the beautiful part.

Anyone figured out how to apply AI to diagnostics in the service side yet?

i think i saw something for that - will share if i come across it again

Dealership model itself is antiquated

Or hear me out… get rid of sale team and markup and sell online to consumer

Yes, but then Ai will take jobs of people who need to “drive to work” Meaning people don’t need to buy a car.

I don’t think these “AI experts” have ever trained a model or could explain back propagation if their lives depended on it. .

That’s all well and good but what % of car buyers actually buy a car without speaking to a real salesperson? It’s not like the ability to buy without human interaction isn’t available.

They need to adopt teslas model and delete the middle man. So obvious at this point. Go to just a service and delivery model
