As an ex police detective, there are more concerns about this case and the trial than most realise.

I once met a woman who worked 12 hour shifts as a neonatal nurse in a US hospital. She described her job as trying to keep babies alive who are trying to die. I've been suspicious of the Lucy Letby story from the day I first heard it. Murder? or the nature of the job?

Admirable that you've taken up this very emotive case, John. I've had concerns about the safety of the conviction; as have other nursing colleagues.

John, I'm in touch with an "employee" that worked on the neonatal unit at the CoCH, conditions were that bad they had to have an insectocutor by the nurses station to kill flies. DM me with your email address if you'd like me to introduce you. @legalmarkmc @drphilhammond

John, I know you're a champion of human rights but from what I've been told by staff who worked with her, you've got this wrong.

The Letby case so closely mirrors 2 cases of the sane nature. 1 in the Netherlands, & 1 in Spain. Both nurses were convicted on "statistical evidence". Both nurses had their convictions overturned. I believe this case, is a copycat.

I keep going back to some of the things she scrawled in her diary at home along with mementos of the child victims. One thing is clear, her head was not in a good space. I'm inclined to believe she is guilty, but I'm always interested to hear somebody test my judgement so will consider helping this crowdfund. Brave move from you John as it's an emotive subject and you're likely to to get some flack from a number of people who have been cheerleading your other work. Keep it up. This is journalism.

@drphilhammond talked about possible dodgy stats in the Private Eye Page 94 pPodcast (and presumably the magazine) a few months ago… worth a listen.

perhaps read the trial transcripts- all 10 months of them and get back

You are a disgrace. Listen to the inquiry. You know absolutely nothing but crackpot half baked ideas.
