Macadamia Nut Madness. When it is so costly to sort and package Australian grown produce in Australia, that we ship it China and import it back - a round trip of over 15,000km - our nation is cooked. And no wonder China is building all those new coal-fired power... show more

Australian growers are paid $2.20 to $4 per kilo by Woolies. After shipping and packaging they then sell to you at $60 per kilo. China wins we loose 🤯

Are there any taxes or duties reimporting it, like gst

I’d also bet there’s a big import duty for Australian macadamia going into China (so it’s very difficult for Australian growers to sell into China) but the Chinese are smart enough to have some type of duty exemption for produce imported into China for re-export.

Madness, but it fits destroying farming. Farmers now have to wait 2-3 months before receiving payment. This delay can strain cash flow, especially for small-scale farmers who rely on timely payments to cover operational costs.

Always as been, always will be.

Insanity.

Pretty sure it is cheaper to send raw macadamia nuts and have them processed and packed in China, and ship back here. Labor cost, regulations, etc, are too expensive here. No wonder our economic complexity is lower than some third world country.

The way they always sold it was counter cost reduction to the consumer. Now that they've killed our industries, manufacturing abilities & services such as energy, the costs increase. Warnings were made decades ago, but the snakes had their way.

Well, Australians have sold out a huge amount of their land and homes to the CCP and other foreigners, continuing selling out them. Obviously, Australia is a lazy and foolish nation.

But I what can we do Craig ? I didn’t vote for Labor but LNP are just as bad . How do we stop this madness?

Talk about - spread the message about what is going on - and tell people to change their vote
