Made a scroll-based color interpolation effect. Each item's color shifts smoothly as you scroll, all done with Reanimated. I was silly thinking I'd need a MaskedView for this 😅 Turns out it's just simple math.

this was made from a single prompt btw…yeah, no wonder kimi k3 is sitting at #1 for frontend. sure, i could’ve spent more time polishing it, but it already nailed >the scroll pacing >oversized text reveals >smooth number transitions >layout shifts >color inversions and the way each section flows into the next. the whole thing moves like an actual designer touched it... pretty ridiculous for one prompt.

Just figured out how to do that smooth Apple scroll effect in 2 steps! It came down to two things: 1. Generating a scroll-optimized video with xAI GROK 2. Turning it into frames in v0 so users can actually scroll through it That's it! 🤯 You might wanna save this for your next landing page

This was a fun one to implement because I've also (afai consciously know) never seen "gradient" selections like this. The ::selection pseudo element doesn't support anything other than flat color so, on selection we sample the height the selected element is sitting at against the matching current state of the noise gradient on the right. We then relight that color down in lightness with oklab for better contrast in light/dark modes. This gets recalculated on scroll.y for a nice effect as you scroll the page up/down that makes the whole thing feel like its living the mood shift. Here's a video of this all playing out in the debug tooling we made:

Start your next project with a giant scroll of paper I learned this from my friend Rob Kalin, founder of Etsy. When he starts a project, he gets out a giant piece of butcher paper — like three feet by sixty feet. When you start the project, you put your first ideas down in the top-left corner. As you keep working, the scroll becomes an organic timeline of your thinking. I started a scroll for Metalabel back in November 2021 and finished it this February. Three-plus years of ideas, from Metalabel to A-Corps, on paper as they happened. Scroll #2 is already almost done. Eric Rohmer on the use of Colour in "La Collectionneuse" (1967) and "Claire's Knee" (1970): "I didn't use color as a dramatic element, as some filmmakers have done. For me it's something inherent in the film as a whole. I think that in 'La Collectionneuse' (1967) color above all heightens the sense of reality and increases the immediacy of the settings. In this film color acts in an indirect way; it's not direct and there aren't any color effects, as there are for example in Bergman's most recent film, his second one in color, where the color is very deliberately worked out and he gets his effects mainly by the way he uses red. I've never tried for dramatic effects of this kind, but. for example, the sense of time-evening, morning, and so on-can be rendered in a much more precise way through color. Color can also give a stronger sense of warmth, of heat, for when the film is in black-and-white you get less of a feeling of the different moments of the day, and there is less of what you might call a tactile impression about it. In 'Claire's Knee' (1970), I think it works in the same way: the presence of the lake and the mountains is stronger in color than in black-and-white. It's a film I couldn't imagine in black-and-white. The color green seems to me essential in that film, I couldn't imagine it without the green in it. And the blue too-the cold color as a whole. This film mould have no value for me in black-and-white. It's a very difficult thing to explain. It's more a feeling I have that can't be reasoned out logically." THIS GUY TURNED A DESK LAMP INTO A LIVE CLAUDE CODE STATUS INDICATOR the lamp changes color based on what claude code is doing in real time when claude is thinking it's one color. when it's writing code it shifts. when it's done it changes again. when it errors out you know instantly without even looking at your screen the lamp is a moonside halo and i'm already tryna to buy one I might even buy multiple for the multiple claude sessions running in the background and turn my room into a disco if the color reflected the operational status of claude it would just be red 24/7 it could also track your usage limit. green at the start of the session, slowly fading to red as your tokens drain people are already hooking this up to their philips hue and govee setups at home
