Surrender Sarkar forcing citizens to surrender democratic rights! Clear proof that Maharashtra's bureaucracy works for Adani. This is the MHADA CEO Sanjeev Jaiswal threatening a resident of Motilal Nagar who was present with placards protesting the take over of their land by Adani. It seems that once the project goes to Adani citizens lose all democratic rights and can't protest! The Surrender Sarkar wants residents also to just surrender to Adani and has deployed bureaucrats to threaten citizens. We saw something similar in Dharavi during the illegal survey and during the recent violations by an RMC plant of Adani also. Policemen threatened residents who came to protest, the Shahu Nagar Senior PI even spoke rudely to elected representatives. The Adani government in Maharashtra has a singular agenda: to cater to Adani’s demands at all costs. It works round the clock to fulfill this objective, with no regard at all for public welfare. The latest attempt to seize the eco-sensitive Mother Dairy land is yet another glaring example of this agenda. However, the environmentally conscious residents of Nehru Nagar have united in their fight against this blatant land grab, launching a mass movement to oppose this injustice. Today, I met with some of these residents and reiterated that both I and my party stand firmly with them in their fight against this injustice. The Mother Dairy land belongs to the people of Mumbai—it is not the personal property of those in power to be arbitrarily handed over for Adani’s benefit. We will not allow this loot. We will not permit the felling of trees on this ecologically sensitive land. The residents have been calling for this plot to be reserved as a public garden, a demand we fully support.
