The mission aims to provide logistical support to the Turkish Task Force Command in Somalia and to support the Çağrı Bey drilling vessel, which will conduct research activities within the maritime jurisdiction areas of the Federal Republic of Somalia. According to the ministry, the naval units will conduct a port visit to Djibouti on February 6–7 and are scheduled to arrive in Somalia on February 11.

Türkiye provides training, equipment and armored vehicles for the force, while Qatar finances the program.
