I rise in the morning, and I do my breathing. I don’t do it because it’s good for me, which it is, but because it feels good. That’s why I want to do it. And then, shortly after, I take my cold shower, or an ice bath if I can. I love it, and I never skip a day, even when I am on the road. Tune out distractions. Turn off your television and leave your phone in another room when you begin the breathing exercises each morning. Give yourself enough time that time doesn’t factor into your thoughts at all. These twenty to twenty-five minutes a day require your complete attention. The mind is a neurological muscle that is able to influence your body’s molecular systems and aid its absorption of oxygen, which creates the energy you want. And if you want this muscle to function optimally, you’ve got to surrender unconditionally to the experience. You have to really go for it. You have to have the third pillar: confidence, mindset.

COACHES: Here is a GREAT teaching clip of something I see in youth hockey all the time. A player will skate the puck towards one of their teammates and will then pass it to them. It's one of my biggest pet peeves in the game. When you skate the puck towards your teammate, you're effectively bringing defenders towards them too so when you give them the puck you've put them in a difficult spot because now with more defenders near they have less time and space to make a play. This clip is a great example. The CHI defenseman skates the puck toward his partner and then tries to give him a pass. They turn the puck over with two CAR forecheckers now right there and the puck ends up in the back of the net. In youth hockey you see defenseman do this a lot and even more so they'll skate it towards their winger and then give them the puck either on the breakout or in the neutral zone. A better solution would be to move it right away or suck defenders towards you (and away from) your teammate so when you pass to them they'll have more time and space. Phenomenal teaching clip on time and space!!

Zabaglione — the warm, custardy Italian coffee drink that’s been a beloved family tradition for generations! This lady’s grandmother was making it for her when she was only five or six years old. She even pulled out the old photo of the two of them together. Her nonna would say, “This’ll give you energy!” — and it really does. All it takes is one egg yolk and a heaping spoonful of sugar in a mug. Mix it vigorously with a spoon (just like her grandma did — no fancy tools) until it turns a beautiful pale yellow and gets that lovely custardy feel, then pour in hot coffee and stir. Simple, comforting, and so good 💛 Sometimes the best recipes aren’t fancy — they’re the ones passed down with love that warm both your body and your soul. while talking about pet adoption, chenle said you really have to do it with true sincerity, the person who wants to adopt needs to have that love and responsibility in their heart. he said it’s not like, ‘i want a puppy right now so i’m gonna get one.’ you have to be sure you can take responsibility for them for their whole life, and that you can give them the love they deserve. that’s when it’s truly right to raise one. but if it’s like, ‘i want a puppy! i’ll get one!’ and then you get tired of them later… that’s honestly the worst. so chenle said that when we’re making decisions about a life, we really, really have to be careful… oh chenle :( ♥︎
